Edit: I was looking through my pictures and found my (very rough) proof-of-concept for a man-portable variant of the M247T machine gun that's normally found mounted on the Scorpion tank in Halo: Reach.

Basically, pull the gun from the mount, remove the metal shield, bonk the pistol grip from the grenade launcher onto it, and remove the hammer. Ta-da, compact machine gun.

no stock to protect shoulders ?
I will go back on the grenade launcher later, most likely I think that it lacks a scope or something over the whole rifle, it just looks too flat at the moment. I started modeling a sight...
I finished remaking the rocket launcher body and I think now I can start modeling the lowpoly ! What has changed from before is the place where the scope is placed and some details, with several hot shots !

The stock isn't there so much to protect your shoulder as it is to help brace the weapon. You don't really need a stock if the weapon is intended to be mounted to a tank the majority of the time, but by giving it a pistol grip, should the crew ever need to abandon the tank for whatever reason, they have a gun that can be taken off the mount and carried with them. The Browning M1919 (as well as the majority of the machine guns that can be toted in Halo) was the same way.

Your launcher seems to be coming along pretty well, the scope module definitely looks better than the previous iteration. What's the purpose of the odd color scheme, though? Is it just to help you distinguish between parts while you're modelling?

I think I will edit the UVWs to divide the space taken by the makazine by 2 and enlarge details on cylinder ends and first person display

Looks alright, I would do a proper texture though and add some wear and tear ect...

There is also quite a bit of wasted UV space you could have used, for example some parts of the UV's could overlap as they are identical.

not bad though.

Yeah I did no texturing job, what I put there is the straight projection of the highpoly. I will definitely reorganize the uvws, and change the tubes as i want to make them look like carbon fiber. Now I get why you fear ngons.

You can still make decent shaders without OS.

That buttstock looks awfully uncomfortable. And more scratches please, it looks way to pristine.

It looks fine to me it supposed to look like that look at the fn 2000 and the styra aug they look like that.

Always good to see new variants of the existing arsenal. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Maybe a SAW-style pistol grip?

I'd suggest a new muzzle device. Maybe something M14-esque? Your gas assembly (the tube below the barrel) also looks a little odd at the moment.
3. The base magazine mesh matches the halo 3 battle rifle but is really bland. :("
Magazines don't need a ton of greeblies and details, especially if it fits flush inside the stock, anyway.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Contact Harvest describes the XBR55 as having a 60-round magazine, so if you're not happy with the current design, you could make an extended version.

I like the slanted shape of the suppressor (but the bore diameter may be a bit large). It looks like you tried to follow the general contours of the front end of the BR. An integrally suppressed variant might be something to look into, if you want to blend the suppressor into the weapon itself, rather than mounting it as an external attachment.

I think the flashlight could look better if you extended the rail segment across the top of the carry handle and mount an offset flashlight up there.

I'd reserve the ACOG for marksman use. If you want it to be a CQB weapon, maybe you could ditch the optics altogether and just mount iron sights. Alternatively, could go with a red dot sight similar to one of these.

The weapon itself looks good. But the origin is bad I think. Move down the weapon and move it back, the sniper will be more attractive.

i dunno, it looks just as ridiculously high as most console shooter origins to me.

They need a lot more work.
I still think the origin is a bit too high for my tastes, but eh, whatever.
The ready is too slow. It lethargic right now.
Did you make overlays? I couldn't really tell from the video.
Moving isn't too bad.
Grenade throw... the grenade leaves the hand before the hand has even thrown it. There's not really a flick of the wrist to throw it either. Fingers are awkward too.
The firing isn't really my style. Personally I'd give it more of a kickback. But hey, that's at your discretion.
Melee is getting there. I'd consider making the fingers natural as possible. They seem kind of awkward.
Reload could use more exaggerated motion.
