That's looking quite good. How is it gameplay-wise?

At last an effort of one day I finished a set for the sniper. But still, It's not finished.

The fire animation looks great. Though the thing that is bugging me in the most is that the bipod is out if sync with the walk animation and happens too slowly. IMO you should add some small variations in the speed the bipod falls and rises (eg at half way down it speeds up etc) to add a snapping effect. You also need to look into adding this to the meele animation. Also it looks really wiered how the right hand leaves the gun whilst the gun is being pulled backwards.

Other wise nice job.

The "simple," and "oblique" grips look best to me. If you're going to mount a foregrip, I'd suggest using one that either mimics the pistol grip or is vertical, and either incorporating it into the current handguard, or changing the handguard into something that sports rails on the sides and bottom.

The oblique with the squeletal mount is the best to me, just give a buff to the look of the front part

A little preview of the rocket launcher ingame :D

I don't understand how photoshop layer blending and alpha works yet so I have a bit of trouble with texturing, especially applying that camo layer decently, but still

Love your br Savin. (Needs Iron sights though...)

As for Altheros's SR animations I felt everything except the walking animation was.....for lack of a better term a little too...."busy" or showoffy. To me it felt like in the real world if someone reloaded or switched with that weapon that they were making a bit too much of a show with it.

Anyway a few meagre updates on my BRX.

I've added some additional details in the form of floating geo to the suppressor. And I've also been experimenting with the grip.

Since I modelled a few generic grips I thought I should also think about foregrips.

appealing in my view)

More than anything I've just been playing with possible placement options. My primary concern was whether or not I should fuse the original foregrip with the non-native one.

There are possible scenerio's where a slot or groove could be cut into the underside of the original grip therefore providing a mounting point for small picatanny rail which would then in turn accommodate one of the custom foregrips.

Alternatively I could do away with original grip altogether and use the rail carriage (which can be seen to the left of the ammo counter) as a mounting plate for a folding grip which would fix to a simple underside rail.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10404301_1537687876504965_3066401562639964420_n.jpg?oh=5712661fbde523ee1c5681718bc8741c&oe=55868827&__gda__=1431765272_12e11e49473ad2d28dce8484e12f7908

While I was racking my brains with those thoughts I mocked this highpoly version of a custom assault rifle more updates to come soon on this but for now, keep it clean.

Does the camo have an effect that causes enemies to notice you less? Could you also add a silencer? Maybe a muzzle hider, too. And a bipod while you're at it. But seriously. Although camo on a rocket launcher looks cool, it isn't used often because it's impractical. Sure, it helps when the user hasn't been noticed yet. But a rocket launcher isn't known for being a stealth weapon. Still, cool camo bro.

This is the important part, especially when it comes to rocket launchers. You get into position, you fire, you relocate.

There's also no such thing as a muzzle hider, for what it's worth, but there are launchers that employ bipods.

The bright yellow bands might be a bit counterproductive in conjunction with the camo.

Can we have a pic of the normal map and no normal map on the model?

Speaking of Normals, I took some cooking classes this week so I could get back into baking.

Here is a test bake I did with the TBR's Magazine.

Need to add rounds.

If it were up to me, I'd give the magazine a slightly more conventional sillouhette and modify the stock accordingly. The mags look cumbersome as they are now (which is probably an issue the battle rifle mags in the other games have as well, now that I think about it).

Here is a little video of the rocket launcher in game so far, with new fancy effects !

and a picture to illustrate it. I think I will make the 3 buttons a meter that indicates when rocket launcher is ready to home in.

How do you use the sight? Is it like a scope where you look right through or is it just a basic aiming aid? I'm wondering because if that is indeed a scope of sorts the crosshair is awfully big.

Come to think of it, the Halo 2 and 3 sniper rifle scope crosshairs are actually pretty big...

Considering how high up the screen is, it doesn't seem like it'd be used like a conventional optic. I'd guess that it might serve a function similar to the Javelin's targeting computer: that is, you just use it to paint a box (or in this case, a diamond) around whatever you're trying to hit, and the rocket's guidance system does the rest.

You don't use it because it's halo frigging CE. and this is just supposed to be a locking assist. It tells you to point stuff with the reticle when a homing rocket is loaded
(you keep pressing the trigger, it tells you to get the reticle red to lock, and then you release the trigger to shoot a horming rocket.)

like this :

How do you use the sight? Is it like a scope where you look right through or is it just a basic aiming aid? I'm wondering because if that is indeed a scope of sorts the crosshair is awfully big.

Come to think of it, the Halo 2 and 3 sniper rifle scope crosshairs are actually pretty big...

Ahh right, I think you misinterpreted what I was asking - I meant to ask how would someone actually holding it would use it, from a design standpoint - as a locking assist as you said, or an actual scope that you put your eye up to - not how to aim down sights in the blam engine itself lol.
