The SAW made me giggle. It was a complete surprise weapon for me. I think it'll be awesome.

Come on, she shot the mech arm she ripped off too, and the enemy used a mech to shoot a railgun. Ready for the Index movie? Only half a year more to wait until it shows up in theaters.. then probably another half a year before it comes out on blueray lol. One thing I don't get, is why Touma is actually classified as level 0 still... They are well aware he is not an ESPer, and his hand would prevent him from being able to become one, but Level 0's are still classified as ESPers, just unable to correctly manifest their powers.. The people incharge of the city are well aware of Touma's position, so why not just give him a correct title..

I liked the SAW too. It looks like a futuristic Thompson.


I thought of it as the first LMG in halo (even though m16 and I put the m60 in HCE before they released footage of the SAW >:C)

Get onit Dennis! It would voice people's opinions much better.

But yeah, it looks like a regular modern day LMG just given some pain and extra details, does not fit into Halo much at all to be quite honest.

I will probably end up making it, but I'm not much for it at the moment.

To be honest the halo 4 weaponry all look bland with the textures. Even the sniper looks meh.

meh i personally don't think that is a weapon that really fits in halo, maybe in crysis but not in the halo series, im just going to think up a new smg

Finally got around to finishing the ACR model. I will be adding some stuff to it for the project I intend to use it in, but just accessories and such, the gun itself is finished.

Any advice/crit/opinions/insults/etc... would be appreciated.

You should add some detail to the magazine, unless you plan on doing so just with textures.

The M247 GPMG from Halo 2 would classify as an LMG.

Halo 2 - "M247 General Purpose Machine Gun". Wiki: It is a scaled-down version of the more widely utilized M247H Heavy Machine Gun. It's basically a small heavy machine gun that has to be set up on a platform to be operated on.

Halo 4's SAW = portable LMG. LMG =/= HMG

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to decide what I want to do with the magazine. My problem is just that it is already getting to be a pretty high poly model.

Although I guess maybe the best thing to do would be to go ahead and add the details for the FP model, and then remove them for the 3rd person model.

I think I will do it that way, thanks.

A small heavy machine gun would be a light machine gun. The PTRS was an anti-armor rifle, and the SKS is a scaled-down PTRS. But the SKS is not an anti-armor rifle.

"Modern light machine guns often fire smaller-caliber cartridges than medium machine guns, and are usually lighter and more compact. However a light machine gun is defined by its usage as well as its specifications: some machine guns - notably general-purpose machine guns - may be deployed either as a light machine gun or a medium machine gun." -Wikipedia

The M247 GPMG fires a smaller-caliber cartridge (7.62x51mm NATO), in comparison to the M247H HMG's 12.7mm round.

Okay, hows this? I added detail to the magazine, as well as some cloths wrapped around the mag and forgrip. I will be adding a few different details like those to make the weapon look more used and worn out. The texture will also have a lot of battle damage.

I am not quite done with the sights yet, but they are not exactly the same.

Those are magpul flip-up sights (I have a set on my .22 so I have all the reference I could want :D )

They could have changed the general structure from the plasma pistol more;

handle, reciever, power cell going down, structure at the bottom only connected by the cell.

Covenant weaponry is largely inspired by Forerunner weapons, I believe.

I am not using OS, so there are no normals. As for the specular maps, there is a specular map applied for the render, but I try not to rely on specular maps to much because I am not very good at working with shaders in halo, so it never comes out looking quite the same in-game.
