I think the model of the plasma repeater looks too bulky. It looks like it's some huge plasma rocket launcher or something.

You use a wrong reference, this image is from the Beta and the origin changed.

As far as I can recall, they didn't change the origin. The only things they changed were a few melees (like the DMR and Sniper's, which they made worse and more stiff because Bungie threw all their common sense and good design choices out the window when they were making and finishing Reach).

My only complaint to the origin that he's made is that the gun itself looks like it's not proportioned correctly (it looks huge). I would recommend either scaling it down or adjusting the origin to make it look smaller (move it down, move it forward).

Uploading for soldier11. Added sounds from gamebanana and edited by me. I'm not too fond of the synthetic rubber on the weapon however> was a quick job. Also, anyone have suggestions for the "other" weapon shown near the end of the video?


Nice work on the sounds XlzQwerty1 ! The shaders need little work, but i think you will do a very nice job about that as always ! :) Oh and the end of the video is just epic xd

Hay my first gun. It's a remake of the original Gravity Gun Sniper Rifle.. thing from early in Halo's development.

I can't seem to unwrap the gun correctly nor can i rig it for animation but it's my first gun.

Looks Pretty faithful! Do you plan on recreating the old Gravity Wrench while you are at it?

If you can't get around to texturing, and animating, any chance of releasing the model?

MUCH better render! Model looks really nice, now it's just down to the wireframe to keep it good.

The one in the top right actually isnt clay, the only reason that the others are is because i thought thats what the people on these forums wanted to see :|. When I finish I will post more pictures including a wireframe

yeah i highly recommend to you bourrin, road rage 1.1 for uvw editing. It makes this sh***t so much easier.

Weld the verts and edges that do not contribute to the shape, to verts that DO contribute too the shape, as long as they don't cause TOO MANY long and thin triangles.

Too many wasted triangles at the moment.

I've always manually unwrapped in 3ds max. Takes hell of a long time if you're new though (like me).

Some automatic unwrapped can do an okay job. But they will NEVER do as much of a good job as a human. :)

I'm working on my High-poly version of that Assault Rifle concept now
