what do you mean? this is a side hobby for me so im a bit of a noob at certain things.
have to figure out the lights first...
I'm trying to make my own lights, they're emitting but i cant seem to figure out how to make them glow :( anyone got any useful advice here?
sounds like that's what he did to me, either way, checking the globals couldn't hurt.
are you using the default globals.globals tag?
It is separate geometry linked to the frame. In my experience, boolean tends to do weird things. Regardless, if I do it like this I can change things later on down the road and not have to worry about it. Like I said, the map runs fine, tool just gives warning. I don't know if it matters or not, im just posting on here to make sure.
hey guys.
I'm hoping to have a two separate pieces of geometry on my map that will need to intersect (see img). It seems like a kind of stupid idea to have to do a boolean every time you run into something like this, so common sense tells me there's a way to let the engine deal with it. The map runs fine if I export/compile, but I get an error in tool saying "surface clipped to no leaves." Can't seem to find anything on the subject in the forums/tutorials/so on. I don't know if it's a big deal or not, and I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question, but help would be appreciated :)
I havent used a different one in this little scenario, but I have tried a few different ones in other scenarios, it's always the same result. Ill post another picture in a few.

Those are smoothing errors, make sure you dont have any double verts, then check your material ID's. Edited by VvCompHelpvV on Oct 14, 2009 at 09:56 PM
editing posts on me eh? :P same situation, ive tried it.
also already tried the higher radiosity. Edited by blake_mcguire on Oct 14, 2009 at 10:09 PM

done it countless times, and as you can see, ive tried more than one model.
ive tried re mapping it a few times, im pretty sure its something with the geometry, i just cant seem to figure out what.
Btw the problem is the hard shadows, not the texture. Edited by blake_mcguire on Oct 14, 2009 at 09:39 PM
I'm trying to make a hilly landscape, but whenever i get to running radiosity i end up with some weird shadows.
Anybody got any insight into this?
ok so basically i tried putting lights into my level, but when i tried compiling it tool gave me some really wierd error message that i cant even remember. after some fiddling i ended up adding the material for my lights onto the one for my water as a sub material.
now it compiles fine, but when i get to sapien, it puts the shader for the water onto the lights :S so i tried putting in a third sub material onto another object and that works fine.
so to sum it up i have two problems.
1. tool will only compile when i put everything into two multi-materials (idk if its me or some kinda restriction on tool)
2. its putting the wrong shader onto my lights when i get it into sapien (ID1 is water! ID2 is lights! ???)
any advice?
i did :S could i be doing something wrong when im rigging it?
whenever i make a weapon and get to running it in game, as soon as i pick it up it stops showing :S like, i can see it when its lying on the ground, but not when im holding it. help?
you have to click the drop down box and click chimp again in there. once you go to the red hammer, you click run script, find the ms file for chimp, then in the little drop box itll say chimp, but you have to click that and then click on chimp in the part that opens.
actually ive figured it out again, i went back and tried compiling it with tool again for like the fifth time and for some reason only this time i had some errors (dont kno y it let them thru before) but anyways i fixed them and now its working fine ^^
damn. oh well i think i might have found the problem but i dunno yet
