Comparing an Elite to that abomination is insulting to me, as an Elite fan.

The master server, which controls the server list and matchmaking, is going. Direct IP will still work fine. Halo 2 has direct IP?

Perhaps try turning down your volume? From that screenshot, it seems like Audacity has the track fine, and something's up with playing it. I tried doing it with low volume. Still just static. Export to .mp3, see if it plays in a different program. As I expected, didn't work. Maybe I'll try later.

Quote: --- Original message by: HaloExtreme117Quote: --- Original message by: Necromancer I tried "game_over.sound" and "deathviolent.sound". Niether of the two worked. Could you post a screenshot of the Audacity window, after you've imported a sound? Okay, here.

How? I tried it, but it doesn't work. Update to latest version, File->Import->Raw Data->Select .sound->Import. I have the latest version, and all I get after importing is static. :/ Make sure your 'Import Raw Data' screen looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/2v5R9.png It's still just static. Even when it's setup like the shot you posted. Odd. Which sound tag are you trying to import? Elite taunt.

You could record it using a headset or a mic if you have one. The quality change is almost unnoticeable. Edited by Dumb AI on Jan 13, 2013 at 03:45 PM Recording microphones aren't the best for recording from a radio, computer, TV, etc. But it really depends on the mic. It's better to use stereo mix or a sound extraction program.
Quote: --- Original message by: SilentJacketthe glow is overdone, esp. at the end of the sword, it looks like the sword is leaking personally, I think that the energy sword looks better with minimal glow effect, confined to the shape of the sword itself, and not an "energy cloud" That's not my fault. All I did was recolor the blade in the bitmaps and recolor the glow color. I never changed anything aside from color.

I can't help you with the color, but imo, i've seen it done before, and red looks bad on the energy sword Edited by SilentJacket on Jan 6, 2013 at 11:40 PM It doesn't really look too bad.
Quote: --- Original message by: clonecam117 i know it's off topic kinda, but 343 said recently that the halo 4 weapon lowering will soon be improved with an auto-update, expect it mid-january I just find it amusing how they said it would be easier than all other Halo lower weapon codes at launch when it was no different than Halo 3's crappy system. Also, they forgot Halo 2's one-button system and Reach's code that was easier than Halo 3's and didn't have the retarded jump.
I tried to do this. Couldn't get the bitmaps to wrap Cortana the right way.
Quote: --- Original message by: Sergeant 1337 Right, but the rate of fire for the AA-12 makes up for that. Possibly, but it depends on how effective twelve gauge would be on shields.
Quote: --- Original message by: Echo77Quote: --- Original message by: Dumb AI I'm not saying that we don't stand a chance. Our weapons are less effective and advanced. Our infantry weapons are equally as effective/advanced, if not moreso, than most of their UNSC equivalents. An example of this would be the AA-12 automatic shotgun, compared to the pump-action M90-series featured in the Halo games. Edited by Echo77 on Nov 17, 2012 at 12:51 PM AA-12 is twelve gauge, I assume. M90 is eight gauge. M90 is obviously superior and AA-12 would likely not do much to a shielded Elite or Hunter.

Honestly, the only difference I see is it being slighly more rounded and the barrel connecting to the grip.
