I have so RANDOMLY found these things but it's just appaling. All the evidence that the original halo just ripped off of other things. And I wonder if those people even noticed it.

Look at the jaws, look at the armor on the top and even the feet. Hell, look at a few of the animations. A lil bit similar there bungie doncha think?!

Most people on Halomaps have probably already seen these.

Bungie's probably already been taken to court over it too. Microsoft protected them and likely still protects them though(due to them having worked together). Microsoft doesn't care for patents. Microsoft just pays fines and moves on. I haven't even seen many stories of Microsoft trying to defend themselves. They just pay the fines to avoid extended court cases. (They have been in court for months before paying though in a few cases)

But I guess this is quite funny. Patents on masterchief shouldn't really exist.

Patents on anything Bungie did shouldn't really exist because they would be so hypocritical to have those patents.

No one took Bungie to court over either of these things. The armor could possibly have been an idea taken from this video, but basing that claim off the fact that it is Mark V is ridiculous. Also the armor in the video is very, very different from the MJOLNIR in Halo.

The same goes for the design of the Elite and how similar it is to the Grunt from Half life. The jaws on the Grunt split horizontally, where as the elites are posable. Otherwise the Grunt is very different.

Come on man :P This is ridiculous.

People steal all the time from other games, other sources.

Heck, Bungie even admitted/has told people they found lots of inspiration from Aliens.

both pieces of evidence shown can hardly relate to each other, one being a vague guy's armor design with the ever-so-common motocross helmet and shoulderpads look. if you look at the unreal, half life, quake, and doom armor designs, they all have braces, gauntlets, leggings, boots, and torso pieces somewhere on the characters too(some are even green, oh no). copy pasted?

the hl grunt and the elite hardly look alike. the silhouettes look dissimilar, the skeletons and body build are heavily differentiated(the grunt has an arm in his chest, total copypaste, right?), the colors are vastly different, the actual armor designs are vastly different, the heads are vastly different, and you present these in a matter that shows "hey, look what I noticed! everyone agree with me!"

this is the 9th time I've seen this kind of thread and it won't be the last. thank you ever so much for reminding me of that fact.

lol. While I do find it funny that they ripped off other people, I am not really offended by it. I sort of have a thing for pushing buttons sometimes. This was going to be one of them, but it got a little hostile it seemed and I just sort of backed off the whole day yesterday.
