I haven't been on here in a hell of a long time. I doubt this place has changed. Anyone reading this, who is a modder and working on their own projects, keep up the good work. Anyone who is thinking of learning how to, give it a shot, it's worth the struggle. Learning to use an old game engine like this is hard as hell. It's not going to be easy. What you will make will not be good. People will crap on you for not being very good. People will try to break you. Ignore these people and become stronger. Even if you never make a good map, you can at least skills that will aid you a lot in the future - and what you think you are improving on might not be what you are actually improving. People you meet who are truly nice to you are few and far between. Hold on to the friends you make here, they can last a lifetime.

if anyone has any questions about the engine, i've probably forgotten how to use it but i'd love to try to help. if you have any questions about math or chemistry i'd probably be more helpful.

I've got a dodge challenger pretty well done somewhere, lemme try to upload a map with it. also have a r32 skyline somewhere, i believe its fake cell shaded.

bgtest.map should have the challenger with cheat_all_vehicles and some other crap.

mipt.map this is the bsp i was working on when i quit the game i think, the other one is an older one kek both of the bsps are crap so it doesnt matter, i think neither of them are the newest version but it doesnt matter because the challenger and the skyline are pretty fun and i hope someone puts them to good use

yeah use it however you want, I'm sure not making any use of it myself haha. You might want to not use the engine sounds so it doesn't blow everyone's ears out. Trying to put realistic engine sounds in a game where the cars have no gears isn't a very good idea. unless your car has a cvt or some . I should probably just upload the tags but I'd probably do it wrong and they'd be unusuable. Sometime when I'm sufficiently intoxicated and bored maybe. theres like 5 other cars too but they're all broke and the skyline and vp challenger are the only ones with low enough poly counts iirc.

has anyone even made an animu mod yet? The cell shading stuff looks fine you'd just need actual custom biped animations because as I found out the hard way masterchief don't got moves like a 12 year old got moves. maybe you could use grunt animations and have it work

Heh I don't even know how to use open sauce. I was only around here for when nobody used it except cmt and they were just starting (it's still like that isn't it?)

I've made sounds with gear changing for truck and spade in bigass. It's not super realistic but it works.
