I know its fun to rag on the newbies and vaporware posts like this, but here's an honest question for OP:
Why did you decide to post with little to nothing to show for it? It looks like stock sandbox for any modern engine, I'm not even entirely convinced there's any content here at all. I'm the last to point fingers at utilizing and customizing existing content to fit a purpose, but you haven't even done that, let alone any custom designs or assets that I can discern here.
Keep in mind also that discussing reaching a goal with others actually releases a rush of satisfaction that is similar to completing the goal itself, without actually requiring any work. This is often the death of projects, since you get the completion satisfaction with no work, and therefore rob yourself of the best part of creating something. The most successful projects/releases here (successful here meaning seen through to completion) generally aren't unveiled until a MAJORITY of the work is already finished on it. Take a look at SPV3, Rev, Bigass, Lumoria, etc. They usually start with a first post about a "plan", but always have ready-made assets that are good to go and demonstrate that this is, in fact, a real project, and that it is already in some advanced stage of development (regardless of how good/bad people think that it is).
Hell, even Halonimator usually makes crapposts about something that he's done, regardless of quality or lack thereof. He doesn't post "New MAP bruh" unless there's already at least a BSP to show.
I would recommend either editing the OP and removing the single screenshot you have until such a time as there is something to show, or just stopping discussion of this altogether until that same time.
People will be much more receptive of real, usable, actually-created content that is god-awful than they will of only an idea/projection of the best content, especially when the end-game goal (such as in this case) is likely YEARS of backbreaking work away for a single developer (let alone a team).
With these goals in mind, using no custom made content, with everything fitting in a cookie cutter mold right off the bat, it would take you the better part of a decade to reach the quality of a game that released in 2005 all by yourself.

NeX is right you know
Even I had something to show when I posted something about my project for the first time, I had actually 3 close to final firefight maps.
I never showed gameplay though, because there was much to change, but I made video's about content updates over time, and, there was actually a pretty neat amount of interest.
Maybe you should wait a half year, and then post something again, but not stuff what is most definitely going to change

You should work on your game, and when you have stuff to show, then show it. Don't download a "WaterPlanes" asset, post a picture of it and call it a new game. Work on it, when you're happy with it, show it. Until then. Edited by Burneyz on Oct 23, 2015 at 01:11 PM

You know, the decision of making your own fan-made halo game was pretty much creating a doomed project from the beginning
Halo is a great game, but also a massive one, and the only way to make something close to a real halo game, is making a massive game, or a really creative one, which are both really hard
Really, the only fan-made halo games (worth mentioning) with releases are halo: owaw and halo zero, and those were both pretty small games compared to real halo games
So before making a fan-made halo game, make sure that you got enough experience to make it, without it, your code will be a mess and after a while adding more resources will become nearly impossible, this happened to halo owaw (as far as i know) and therefore the project got cancelled (one of the saddest moments in the halo community) Also, you need to make sure that you want to put a really long time in it to make the game, believe me, it will take you at least years if you want to create a fps, maybe a top-down shooter or a platformer will suffy until you're experienced enough to make a fps
And just one more thing, please, don't do like you are better then Alex (I'm talking to: thechunkierbean, (SSB)Burney and R93_snipers), only because you put some more time in your project doesn't make you better then other halo community members, here is why:
TheChunkierBean: I'm looking at your YouTube account and the forum thread about I01, and I didn't see any update for months, also, you don't really talk about what you guys are doing with the project, it becomes more like a show-off so you can feel better then other community members instead of being a real project anymore.
(SSB)burney: Your project is one of the better ones, every once and a while you actually post a picture or a small video, just so we know that the project is dead, but when I'm browsing through your YouTube channel, your last project you really seemed to adore was the emerald dream mod for WoW, I must say, it looked really great, but really, nobody cared about it, it looks like that your attention is going away from glassed and it is slowly sinking into a pool of forgotten projects
R93_snipers: I must say, contingency looks really promising, but what have you done? Promises of a soon-to-come update were made in march (It's now more then 6 months later, I think that we both agree that that isn't soon), your once so supportive forum members are slowly becoming trolls (just like the admins as far as I can see) and really no information at all is given about the progress of the game, you can litterally just stop working on it for 3 months and nobody would ever find out or care about it
All of you guys should really get your stuff together and start thinking if you can finish your projects, and stop working on other ones where nobody cares about if you really want to finish your project, otherwise you'll lose the hype of the crowd and with that probably your motivation aswell (I should actually do the same now I'm thinking of it, but ADE didn't ever become really popular, so I don't have that much to worry about it)
I'm sorry for my horrible grammar and the long hateful post, I just had to tell everybody what I'm thinking for months already so I don't have to crop it up somewhere in the back of my mind

Why do I feel like you never actually think before you post dude? I sincerely apologize to any of the halomaps members who have had their brain cells die to lolslayer. Quote: --- Original message by: lolslayerYou know, the decision of making your own fan-made halo game was pretty much creating a doomed project from the beginning That is a completely untrue statement. You can create your own fan-made halo game and have it work perfectly. That and they suffer from being poor and incapable leaders with either no team or a really bad team.
Halo is a great game, but also a massive one, and the only way to make something close to a real halo game, is making a massive game, or a really creative one, which are both really hard Halo is perceived differently from person to person, and that's probably the biggest fact there is. The only "real" halo games are the ones produced by Microsoft/343i/Bungie, so try to first fix your terminology. Failure is one of the best teachers there is quite frankly. Your code does not instantly become a mess if you do not have experience, and what does gaining resources have to do with experience? Placeholders are a godsend, and using them is a great way to help you get your systems working to prove your concept before refinement. Game design is inherently a long process due to what's involved, i'll concede there, but depending on how good you are, that process is shorter or longer. Look up GameJam and try to tell me otherwise. And just one more thing, please, don't do like you are better then Alex (I'm talking to: thechunkierbean, (SSB)Burney and R93_snipers), only because you put some more time in your project doesn't make you better then other halo community members, here is why: What the hell are you even trying to say here?TheChunkierBean: I'm looking at your YouTube account and the forum thread about I01, and I didn't see any update for months, also, you don't really talk about what you guys are doing with the project, it becomes more like a show-off so you can feel better then other community members instead of being a real project anymore."You don't show us stuff when we demand it! You're not a real project! You're dead and you should feel ashamed of how terrible you are!" - Lolslayer in a nutshell. Realize that as a fan game that is unpaid, has no benefits to the members except for the gratification of making a game they can call their own and having a portfolio, they owe you absolutely nothing. They could close off their entire media front and release at their own leisure and it is as justified as having an open media front. (SSB)burney: Your project is one of the better ones, every once and a while you actually post a picture or a small video, just so we know that the project is dead, but when I'm browsing through your YouTube channel, your last project you really seemed to adore was the emerald dream mod for WoW, I must say, it looked really great, but really, nobody cared about it, it looks like that your attention is going away from glassed and it is slowly sinking into a pool of forgotten projects "You Posted non-glassed stuff on your youtube channel at one point, HERETIC!!!!!!" - Lolslayer again. So what? I post stuff of me playing games with my friends on my youtube channel, I have me giving tutorials on my channel, as well as animations I did out of boredom. Does this mean that im not working on contingency? No it doesn't, it means that I decided not to post anything from contingency there. By now you should stop acting like you know everything, especially with the failure that was At Destiny's Ending.R93_snipers: I must say, contingency looks really promising, but what have you done? Promises of a soon-to-come update were made in march (It's now more then 6 months later, I think that we both agree that that isn't soon), your once so supportive forum members are slowly becoming trolls (just like the admins as far as I can see) and really no information at all is given about the progress of the game, you can litterally just stop working on it for 3 months and nobody would ever find out or care about itFirst of all, It's R93_Sniper, not R93_snipers. Secondly you're an idiot. My Post on Twitter was in august. Thirdly you're a butthurt moron who still cant stand the fact that you were temp-banned from the contingency forums for violating the rules that we set up. No matter how you look at it you're still in the wrong and the trolls get dealt with accordingly. We CAN stop working on it for months and nobody would know, but at the same time we can continue to work and nobody would know if we don't say anything. The world does not bend to your will, stop acting as if it does. All of you guys should really get your stuff together and start thinking if you can finish your projects, and stop working on other ones where nobody cares about if you really want to finish your project, otherwise you'll lose the hype of the crowd and with that probably your motivation aswell (I should actually do the same now I'm thinking of it, but ADE didn't ever become really popular, so I don't have that much to worry about it) Tell me something, what does hype do for any of the teams? The ONLY thing it does is draw attention, right? Think about this, we're dealing with Microsoft who has been known to shut down projects if they even remotely encroach on the grounds of their IP. If you gain enough of a following that Microsoft is drawn to it, you have a higher likelihood to get shut down for whatever reason they decide, and you will be silenced without any chance to say otherwise. The only possible bonus to hype is to gather developers to work on your game, which can be done in private just as easily and with far more scrutiny. I'm sorry for my horrible grammar and the long hateful post, I just had to tell everybody what I'm thinking for months already so I don't have to crop it up somewhere in the back of my mind If you made a post and then immediately apologized, then why post at all? Let your thoughts get "cropped up somewhere in the back of your mind", because quite frankly nobody cares at all what some random person on this forum thinks. The few people whose words really have any sway are those who have proved themselves. Learn what forum etiquette is, as well, because its very abundantly clear you don't.

Before you even consider what you want to create this in, you need to decide what you want to create first. Do you want to tell a story? Do you want to create a project where you fight AI? Do you want to create a project where people fight each other? Once you figure that out, you need to start writing your ideas down and expand on them. Get it to where you can play this creation in words, writing it in a way where the words can make a visual depiction for you to go off of. Gather some concept art while you're at it. Once you have these things in mind, then start working on it. Judging your join date, it looks like you're going to have to learn some things to make it successful.

We've learned so much from CE3 2014. It's still funny how we managed to get a build of it. Also, just because we don't update every month doesn't mean we aren't hard at work. That crap needs to end. I don't get why people don't understand this. Installation 01 will be ready to show at CE3 2016, you can count on it.

The problem isn't that they aren't showing anything, the problem is that thechunkierbean is only mentioning the project on moments like this when somebody makes a little project like this one (I must agree, I made that mistake aswell and I'm not happy with it)(SSB)burney: Your project is one of the better ones, every once and a while you actually post a picture or a small video, just so we know that the project is dead, but when I'm browsing through your YouTube channel, your last project you really seemed to adore was the emerald dream mod for WoW, I must say, it looked really great, but really, nobody cared about it, it looks like that your attention is going away from glassed and it is slowly sinking into a pool of forgotten projects "You Posted non-glassed stuff on your youtube channel at one point, HERETIC!!!!!!" - Lolslayer again. So what? I post stuff of me playing games with my friends on my youtube channel, I have me giving tutorials on my channel, as well as animations I did out of boredom. Does this mean that im not working on contingency? No it doesn't, it means that I decided not to post anything from contingency there. By now you should stop acting like you know everything, especially with the failure that was At Destiny's Ending. Not at one point, for months, and it was pretty Obvious that with a project that big, there wasn't any time to work on glassed which was his best project for like nearly everybody who visited their channel, gaming videos and little animations are really rather small then this project he was working on, and nobody posts stuff of contingency on their own YouTube channel, so I can't blame you for not doing that aswell I must agree, ADE is a failure atm, a little boys dream, maybe it won't be a failure anymore one day, maybe when I have the time for it and when I stop working on other projects (Yes I agree again, I make the same mistakes, the only difference between us is, that I don't deny it), but atm, it is and it will stay a failure for a while, just as contingencyR93_snipers: I must say, contingency looks really promising, but what have you done? The world does not bend to your will, stop acting as if it does.I've accepted the ban like 2 months ago, and I made myself promise that I'll only post on the ADE thread when coming back, because I don't want to start the fights all over again (Also because there aren't any other interesting threads on the forums, except that pokemon maker game) Trolls get dealt with? what about the thread where neesy and everybody else were pretending like they got the game already with a closed beta and that poor guy believed them? As far as I can remember, even mootjuh was playing the same game, I can't find the post anymore so maybe you really did get rid of the troll-filled post, but that took like more then a week, and it's still a pretty big confirmation that the forum members are slowly becoming trolls The world doesn't bend at my own will, but it wíll never change if everybody remains silent, just like you are trying to do with me, keeping me silent because you can't stand (a probably unpopular) opinionAll of you guys should really get your stuff together and start thinking if you can finish your projects, and stop working on other ones where nobody cares about if you really want to finish your project, otherwise you'll lose the hype of the crowd and with that probably your motivation aswell (I should actually do the same now I'm thinking of it, but ADE didn't ever become really popular, so I don't have that much to worry about it) Tell me something, what does hype do for any of the teams? The ONLY thing it does is draw attention, right? Think about this, we're dealing with Microsoft who has been known to shut down projects if they even remotely encroach on the grounds of their IP. If you gain enough of a following that Microsoft is drawn to it, you have a higher likelihood to get shut down for whatever reason they decide, and you will be silenced without any chance to say otherwise. The only possible bonus to hype is to gather developers to work on your game, which can be done in private just as easily and with far more scrutiny. I didn't know about that microsoft stuff so I sincerely appoligize for that part of my statement, but on small projects, a little hype helps with holding your motivation up, which helps to keep you working on that projectI'm sorry for my horrible grammar and the long hateful post, I just had to tell everybody what I'm thinking for months already so I don't have to crop it up somewhere in the back of my mind If you made a post and then immediately apologized, then why post at all? Let your thoughts get "cropped up somewhere in the back of your mind", because quite frankly nobody cares at all what some random person on this forum thinks. The few people whose words really have any sway are those who have proved themselves. Learn what forum etiquette is, as well, because its very abundantly clear you don't. I know that my post was filled with rant, and I apoligize again for this, but I'm not sorry for my post at all, my posts are controversial, but it attacks parts of community's where talking about it is necessary, with my posts, people should start thinking, not hating, maybe most of what I posted is plain dumb, but as long as people start to think about the subject I ranted about, the goal of this post is reached
So please stop trying to humiliate me, and start having a normal discussion for once, really, you Always like to insult me when I post something instead of posting the intelligent parts onlyQuote: --- Original message by: TheChunkierBeanQuote: --- Original message by: The_PurrminatorQuote: --- Original message by: lolslayer
TheChunkierBean: I'm looking at your YouTube account and the forum thread about I01, and I didn't see any update for months, also, you don't really talk about what you guys are doing with the project, it becomes more like a show-off so you can feel better then other community members instead of being a real project anymore.
They are making good progress, but decided to stay in the dark for a while because they don't wanna show off something broken again. CE3 was a learning experience for them. THIS is excactly as I wanted it to be, you don't have to post stuff all the time, I'm ok with it if you tell everybody that there will be a update every year but no more then this, and if you can keep your promise, everyting will be perfect that is way better then actually posting it at random moments and after that being silent about it, because it will make it very unclear then if there is any progress One little promise for the next update date is enough to keep me (and probably many other fans) happy quote] --- Original message by: EtchyaSketchQuote: --- Original message by: TheChunkierBeanQuote: --- Original message by: The_PurrminatorQuote: --- Original message by: lolslayer

It's hilarious that people would expect a monthly progress update from a fan game, when Professionals don't give month to month update revealing every little bit of information of their game. Please read my reply to thechunkierbean, it should make things a lot more clear
