...of your PC! ALL FOR HALO (and GTA V)It's that time of the year again. (what time, exactly?) Matt and I were discussing changes we've made to our PCs and various other things, stuff we've bought, changed, moved, ectetera. We thought it'd be fun to flaunt our stuff and dangle it in the faces of others. We wanted to see what changes other have made as well, so post all your stuff. Personally, I've changed quite a bit about my laptop, and I've gotten a new one altogether. I'll explain as I go along, and I'll post links to the products just so you can see for yourself what they are exactly (I'm not advertising or anything) I'll start with what I've been up to lately, which is playing GTA V. I finished the story mode and moved on to the amazing multiplayer which has me completely hooked. This is my character (my friend started her off for me, so now I'm stuck unless I want to start from nothing.): These are the original specs of my computer: I've since added a GTX 660 OC graphics card (It was 220$ when I got it): http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SUPERCLOCKED-Graphics-02G-P4-2662-KR/dp/B00966IREK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432186738&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+gtx+660 I added my old desktops' 200GB HDD, and also stuck a PS3 80GB HDD (5400RPM) just for kicks. I use an xbox One controller for most of my PC games, including GTA V. Its the Midnight colored one. I use a Rock Candy Micro-USB cable that I got at Gamestop for the connection since the wireless dongle isnt out yet. Here is a pic of my USB cable management stuffs: I have my Lightning cable, Micro-USB (for the controller) and the charger for my Macbook. My Gameboy Advance SP: This is my desktop computer tower: Its an HP ENVY model. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03639067-12 I gave the AMD 7570 to Kirby, but it seems he has issues with it. I have my Xbox 360 set up to use the HDMI port on my computer monitor, and I had to get a bit creative to connect the audio to the computer speakers (since my monitor doesn't have audio out) My printer, it's pretty standard but it's reliable: My computer monitor: (that picture isn't mine, lol.) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-pavilion-21-5-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/7294042.p?id=1218838644318&skuId=7294042 My speakers are the Creative brand and they are hidden behind my monitor, and the bass-woofer is under my desk: My keyboard is nothing special at all, it came with the desktop when I got it at Best Buy: You can see that the clips have gone missing. I have two drawers that I added under the desk for storage (I hate putting the keyboard in that area.) Here are some of my various doohickeys: -A portable USB solar charger (charges my phone twice over) -iPod nano 6th gen with watch strap (Some of you might recognize it from my 3d model) -A few of my Apple USB wall chargers -Two water bottle caps with a bit of felt on the top. I use these to prop up my laptop a little more when I play games so that my mini-fan can push air under it. A short micro-USB cable with a M-USB to Lightning adapter (I carry this with the portable charger everywhere) My iPod Touch 5G: 32GB model, I used to use it heavily for movies and music, until I got my 64GB 5S: My MSI GE70 laptop: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GE70-Apache-Pro-012-17-3-Inch/dp/B00IMTQ5I2 Man, this thing is a little monster. I can run GTA V at Very High settings and get around 45 - 60 fps. Specs are: GTX 860M 2GB 12GB RAM 1TB HDD 1920 X 1080 Matte display Steelseries gaming keyboard with changable backlight colors I bought a sticker from Amazon and stuck it on with plenty left over to cleverly cover the keyboard area too. 250GB Samsung 850 SSD I have two Windows 7 OSs running on this one, one from the 1TB HDD and one from the SSD. The SSD W7 copy is used solely for games, I don't even have Google Chrome installed. Nothing but Steam, GTA V, and the necessary drivers for my laptop to work. The HDD W7 installation will be used for everything else. I never knew this, but the (C:/) drive changes based on what OS I am booted into. I also recently got a Macbook Pro Retina 2015 model: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/ It's not a big deal, but I'll list the cute specs anyway: -128GB SSD i5 Intel Broadwell processor (look up the macbook online for details) Intel Iris 6100 graphics or something. I get around 40 - 60 fps in GTA V with the lowest settings on the first mission (I had to run the game off an external HDD) 8GB RAM 2560x1600 display Here it is compared to my GE70 I carry the Macbook in this Incase bag: http://www.amazon.com/Incase-CL57715-Nylon-Sleeve-MacBook/dp/B004MEXBFG/ref=sr_1_30?ie=UTF8&qid=1432190794&sr=8-30&keywords=macbook+pro+13+incase+sleeve And my GE70 and Macbook in this Incase backpack: http://www.amazon.com/Incase-CL55338-Compact-Backpack-MacBook/dp/B004YCE9ZM/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1432190600&sr=8-14&keywords=incase+backpack This is my entire PC setup (things move around): Show me your stuff! Well here is my setup (all for halo of course) Lets start from the left of my desk where my Xbox 360 lies... collecting dust. Then lets move to my dual 1080p monitors. Then my mechanical keyboard, G710+. Clipped on my desk is my pop filter for recording. To the right of my desk is my Xbox One, Laptop, and Desktop. Also a mess of cords that really can't be resolved because I have too much crap shoved back there. dratt confirmed whiteand no I dont cover my Xbone when it's running. I also have my Xbox 360/One/PC connected to an HDMI switcher for the left monitor. Then over to the right of that is my dresser with a ton of random crap on it that I can stare off at when I get bored. But let's get into the computers. My laptop is a Yoga 2 Pro. Intel Core i5-4210U 13.3" 3200x1800 Intel HD 4400 8GB Ram 256GB SSD Not a gaming computer but it can still run Halo. I mainly got it for school. It can also flip 360 degrees which is a cool gimmick I've been using the heck out of. Then there is my Desktop. Intel Core i7-4790k 4.6Ghz Corsair H105 Liquid Cooler Gigabyte Z97X SOC Motherboard 16gb DDR3-1600 Ram Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4gb Tri-X NZXT Phantom 410 (Black/Orange) EVGA 850W 2x Crucial MX100 256GB (Raid 0 as boot drive) Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD 7200RPM Samsung Spinpoint 1TB HDD 5400RPM https://pcpartpicker.com/b/6gtJ7P And I'll leave out with a screen of my hard drives (recently cleaned out too) Edited by MatthewDratt on May 21, 2015 at 02:55 AMEdited by MatthewDratt on May 21, 2015 at 03:03 AM

So, is a Intel Core 3960x base clock @ 3.30 GHz good enough for most modern gaming and whatnot? I almost want to upgrade to the 5960x but I do not have that money right now.

Well I send most of all my wages to the endangered African cheaters of the bonga bonga tribe. So here is what I own. :( (No I can't show personal pics because my laptop is covered in cat hair and semen) Specs: Make: HP Model: TS 15 N024SA Cpu: AMD A8E 4555M Quad core @ 1.6GHZ (it actually only has 2 modules + 4 integer cores) Gpu: AMD HD7600G (only plays halo and old games pre 1984) Ram: 8GB > 7.19 is accessible (The other .81 is in Tahiti) Screen: Standard 1376 x 768 Disk drive: Well it opens and closes HDD: 1TB HDD (869mb's usable) Perks: It has touch screen (Decent if you like stroking on screen boobies) and boots up pretty fast. Downsides: .Not enough ram. .Crappy GPU .Crappy CPU .Crappy screen calibs .Needs an SSD .General POS Would recommend to any of my following enemies: Poachers. I also have an xboxone + a 360s + 3 old xbox mk1's (which are all in the attic:/) I probably should upgrade soon but I spend far too much money on my cat > sapien. Mew Mew :) (Unfortunately he doesn't like to wear MLG booties) And the rest of my money (Aside for the impending wedding budget and taxes ) I spend pursuing my youth in the form of digitally proportional radio control car kits from the 80's 90's and heck even today's brushless super era! (My 18th build, decals suck!)

Pretty much all I can do is swap out the ram for 2x 8GB slots. (ddr3) I can't retrofit an A10 7850k BE unfortunately since my Apu is soldered to the motherboard. (BGA motherboard fusion type) It is possible to change the cpu but everybody I have approached denied to help even when I offered more cash than the operation was worth. I even confronted the manufacturer but they said they will only offer me credit to buy a different pc or replace the pc with 1 of equivalent specs. So pretty much my pc gaming dreams are dead. But it's okay as long as sapien keeps licking the tab key every time I play bigass. BTW, if I had all the money in the world I would by my self this: http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/31/asus-rog-g751-review/ But that will probably never happen so I'll go back to cutting my self.
