I don't know how I feel about that. Guess we will have to wait and see what it is.

Absolutely nothing definitive here, it's likely just the epilogue.

New things seem to be popping up all the time, like their awesome campaign scoring and medal system. Also we know they are in a rush to get everything ready, hence the 20GB patch so it would not be surprising if an extra mission is something they were unsure of having at launch. Or as DLC.

Typically when a production company like 343i work backwards instead of forwards, really it means they are too scared to take any risks, and feel more comfortable playing with the past rather than exploring the future. I'm really not bummed out that a mission was cut from h3 as it is they made it up by including the map from the mission they cut out in mp.

Not gonna lie, this has piqued my interest in the MCC pretty hard. I was a bit unsure as to how much I could be fussed with an HD re-release of stuff I already have, but the potential of extra missions is definitely a huge bonus.

After watching the IGN Stream today, there are 11 missions, but they also mentioned that there's going to be Prologue and Epilogue levels for H2A, so I feel like they might be intending to do the same for Halo 3, as its supposed to lead into H5 in part (evidently they'll be narrated by Locke)

That was just suppose to be part of the High Charity level, the internal name is still forerunner ship. Also why it is 15 minutes long.

I beg to differ, I loved the halo 2 campaign, and as far as I know, 343 are not actually changing anything themselves, all they are doing is adding something that Bungie made, so it will probably be pretty good.

Man I remember how much everyone hated H2's campaign and MP back when it came out, it was such garbage. It had 10x more hate than H4 ever got. Even Bungie bashed it and every game since H2, has tried to strip things away introduced in it to make it more like Halo 1. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Bungie-We-Screwed-Up-Halo-2-2513.html
H4 for it's faults in both MP and SP is still so much more enjoyable than H2. Yes the story is hard to follow and rushed, and yes the new stuff in MP does not give it the same sophistication as prior games and is quite mindless compared to the first 3, but when it is played with all it's mechanics at full throttle (with all it's MP content unlocked, or on Legendary for SP), it plays just fine other than a few hiccups (which every game has).
I really don't care what anyone has to say defending H2, it's an incomplete, poorly thought out game that throws everything it's predecessor did right out the window. It's not a rushed game as people seem to be quick to claim, it had a 3 year development cycle thanks to MS extending Bungie's original release date. There are certainly parts of it that executed pretty great (matchmaking, graphics, sound, cutscenes, and atmosphere), but as a whole it falls flat on it's face. I guarantee you give the MCC a few months after release and H2 will be the lowest played game in it. Anyone who thinks Halo 2 is well designed, go play it on Legendary where all the game mechanics are suppose to be working at their highest potential or a game of MP with a decent group of evenly skilled people.
I really don't understand how anyone who loved the first game can like to play H2 to this day, when you break the game down and analyze it it's an abomination.
In fact, I'm going to do just that.

I think the reason that people defend Halo 2 more than they defend Halo 4 is because, despite whatever gameplay issues it may have had, Halo 2 looked like a Halo game, it felt like a Halo game, and it told a story that didn't seem out of place in what we knew of the Halo universe up to that point. Halo 4, as a game, might technically be better from a gameplay perspective, but because it's so radically different compared to all of its predecessors, because its story reads like a hard-to-follow fanfic, because the aesthetic suddenly jumped from an almost elegantly simple future to hardcore sci-fi, there's a backlash. It's like the difference between the World War Z book and the World War Z movie: Sure, the movie wasn't necessarily bad, but it's so different from the book that it might as well be a seperate franchise. But beause it's not a seperate franchise, because they stuck the World War Z label on it, people feel misled or cheated out of what they feel should have been, I guess. It doesn't feel like the franchise they originally grew to love. Edited by Echo77 on Oct 23, 2014 at 04:44 PM
