We currently have two desktops running nearly full time. We've tried using two additional computers but these final renders are using very high settings, and the other two started displaying odd render artifacts and/or slowed down the computer to the point of uselessness. We were forced to return to only two. However, since we have to unwrap uvs anyway, there's only so many render files we have prepped at any given time. At the moment our rendering seems to be about equal to our uv progress rate, which is a good thing, all things considered.

17 lightmap subdivisions are left on the bsp i'm working on (out of 63); i'll be finished uv mapping it this weekend. silicon has started work on uv mapping int_b. there have been some issues with the most recent batch of final lightmap renders; the renders have "finished" but we've had to go back and re-render + paint out some errors in them that only became apparent when we switched to rendering at final quality.

update -- breaking news! the lightmaps for the security approach bsp have been approved. we are now rendering lightmaps for the next bsp!

it is not going to be done before the 19th. we are aiming for a point in time after that.

they're a new species of cmt members which have evolved form their reptillian ancestors to be able to blend in with humans like us.

If you ever need to determine if one of your friends is really a CMTE member, just ask them to give you the tags. If they refuse, then you can be certain that Teh Lag is oppressing them.

Honestly CEA is the most pathetic excuse of a Halo game I've ever played. Almost all of the game assets were recycled from other games (Reach, 3) and the collision models didn't match up at all. In some areas there wasn't even any new model work, but new nasty looking textures to give it a "modern feel. I'm looking at YOU b40. I can appreciate the new sounds but whenever I play that game in the MCC I just get super pissed at whatever studio it was outsourced to.

SO ANYWAY it's good to know this is so close. It's been a long time since a CMT release.

"CMT Evolved"... CMT is Custom Mapping Team, and "Evolved", in this case, is a remake made by CMT of the campaing level The Silent Cartographer.

masterz had nothing to do with this project's creation. actually, he was opposed to it...!

your update for today is: the things that were rendering are still rendering, and the things that were being UV mapped are still being UV mapped. i am hoping that we can finish up the UV mapping this weekend so that we only have renders to worry about, but now that i've said it it probably won't happen.

As Lag said, I had nothing to do with the project, and opposed it initially. This project is Lag, Iffy and Silicons baby of all things.

I'm curious, what does CMT consider a good base minimum GPU for this? I realize the engine is pretty old, but I would also think that all the new OS eye-candy would be massively unoptimized in terms of resource management.

From personal expierience, an overclocked GT 430 is perfect (assuming you plan to play in 1080p, otherwise stock clock will work)

I have a GT 755M and it works perfectly in A50 beta (inside the ship) with everything maxed out (OS & SweetFX); it nevers drop below 60FPS. However, in the exterior, near the gravlift and looking at a certain angle, it may drop below 40 FPS (~35 FPS), and changing any graphic setting doesn't help at all, dunno why.

I dunno, I've been playing pretty well on my 1368x768 i5-4400u Acer laptop whenever I've tested builds. Mind you those are also builds that needed optimization and not final release candidates. Not sure what I had my settings at, probably turned off one or two things but the game still looks nice and played well for me.
