So this is on permanent hiatus. I'll work on it here and there but don't expect major updates. Takedown is my main focus. I'll finish this someday but today (or in a few months) won't be that day.

Am I the only one where the map gets stuck in the cutscene just after Johnson pulls out the chip of Cortana? Chief and Johnson suddenly disappear but I still see a floating cigar, the sound goes on but eventually when it's finished nothing happens

You start working 60 hours a week and between Takedown, Sierra, and CE3/HMU you really narrow down what is still fun to work on. BSPs aren't done yet. Scripting and placing encounters is the next big thing. The last BSP is going to be a big pain. If someone could do that, really only left is scripting stuff in which shouldn't be terribly hard. Some issues also result of theres so much fking scenery that AI in H1 are stupid and just run into everything

Yeah I seemed to of learned that the hard way... Me and my buddies have been working on some campaign missions and... Well our encounters and some of the scenery placements have been behaving... VERY strangely...
Imagine if Halo was like Fallout modding. NAVMESHING. Pain in the ass making triangles all around an area but my god, does it work flawlessly...

Porting the last area with the structure over from H3 > Max > Tool. It just suxs

Oh oh oh! Let me guess... RED TRIANGLES! I wish there was a better alternative to Tool. Has anyone ever used the Far Cry map creators or Fallout GECK or Creation Kits? IMAGINE being able to simply mod Halo just like that... Ahhh everything would be right in the universe...

Ahh, engine bugs galore. Like in FO3/New Vegas, weapons that fire non-hitscan projectiles with explosions attached to them (e.g. missiles) will deal no impact damage. Or weapons that had the 'Ignore damage threshold/resistance' flag didn't actually ignore damage threshold/resistance, meaning that your sweet, mean chainsaw didn't do as much damage that it normally would if that flag actually worked. It was only until 6-8 years later that a third party plugin fixed these things, and a whole bunch of other things too.
The GECK editor is OK...when it doesn't crash at least. Plus, you have to make INI edits to allow it to load multiple master files. At this point, the geck extender plugin is pretty much essential for efficient use of the GECK.
The world editing tools are quite nice, quite easy for a beginner like myself to learn how things work, but the animation department could use significant work (as just one example, there is actually a limit - may or may not be hardcoded - as to how many reload animations total can be used in the game). Creators of custom weapons must keep into account animation compatibility, and even now years later, there's still not much documentation about how animations work in Fallout's Gamebryo, although there have been strides with some reanimation packs being released.
But yeah, I guess if Halo's SDK was similar to the GECK it'd open up modding to a wider community. Years ago I took a look at the HEK and was like '...lol nope.'
