Not to thread jack but I have already ported and scripted the majority of the final BSP in Sierra 117 when the BSP extraction was first supported to test out performance in Halo If you would like the already ported BSP content\instanced geometry it's all yours.

All of that looks like Jesse's part of things, but yeah, send the files over! They'd be useful.

And one might want to add more IG to the BSP. Alright, thank you. But, i never heard of "IG", what does that stand for?

As far as I'm aware it's a type of scenery designed to be used many, many times throughout a level; kinda the equivalent of a more conservative 3d detail map where the BSP itself would be the diffuse.
The problem comes in not only porting every single bit of it and repositioning them in the correct parts of the level (which no extractor does automatically iirc) but also in implementation - if you just put it in as scenery you end up with performance issues and AI probs.
If I'm mistaken in the above points please correct me for the good of the cause :)

The basis of instanced geometry (in any engine) is allowing that and all the same models in the scene be drawn in the same draw call, rather than multiple instances drawn multiple times

Compared to the dog pile that was the h2 campaign, it had a really nice flow and story. The only problem I had with it was its numerous "go here and push a button, then do that again" gameplay sections.

The only problem I had with it was its numerous "go here and push a button, then do that again" gameplay sections. I think two of the main problems people have with it are that it doesn't feel like a Halo game, and it doesn't look like a Halo game. The campaign in and of itself isn't terrible, but I feel it would have been better-suited to a different franchise. Regardless of the quality of the flow and story elements of Halo 2's campaign, Halo 2 looked and felt like a Halo game. It stayed true to what had been previously established by the game that came before it, and it didn't pull anything crazy like UNSC mechs, iguana Jackals, an entire branch of Spartans (with no command structure), or fighting a member of a race that's supposed to be long gone and enigmatic.
