I mean, it's 2014 and this forum is outdated. What about a new interface? A more attractive welcomepage? The ammount of new comers in this forum is minimum. That prevents the cumunity to expand. We need new people, new knowledge, new experiences. Believe it or not, Halo maps is what keeping HaloCE alive. We have these amazing SPV3 Maps yet our forum, our community houngout is so bad and crappy, people won't even like to download the maps. HEK is sooo easy to use and people would love to start their first moding experiences here. Just do some advertising, increase the adds in the forum, make some money and make this forum brand new.

No. If it aint broke dont fix it.

I personally love the way the forums look here. Simple yet very attractive in my opinion.

Whats wrong with this forum? Honestly, of all the forums I go to, despite the massive trolling and such, this forum is probably the best because of how easy it is to make decent posts and browse through them all. It's just... simple.

This forum is simplistic and easy to browse through. It's like the Lumoria campaign; there's not too much, but it's the perfect balance of simplicity and ease of understanding.

Especially the whole phantom pages bug. That's just the best, amirite? So simple to browse when you have to manually figure out what the hell the last page actually is.

Frankly, I don't think Coldfusion was ever designed with this kind of thing in mind, and this forum hasn't done anything to dissuade me of that. But I can't blame anyone seeing as it's UXB's specialty (gotta keep those eggs in one basket) and I'd really hate to see this place change after having it like it is for so long.

Maybe just for the heck of it, (Not saying that there was anything wrong with how it was before) change the Halo Maps Forum logo at the top left with a really awesome custom Master Chief and a really awesome custom Halo ring to replace the old logo. You know. Just to sort of be like, "Halo modding community. Custom and ported stuff."

Maybe we could get the best 3D modelers and designers on Halomaps to come together to do that? Just so it would sort of be like the community has actually done something for this website? Just a suggestion. :<

Why do you people deny the change? I will set you guys one queztion. Are you really happy with this forum or just too comfortable?

I wouldn't mind seeing a few small updates. Fixing the last-page bug and modernizing some of the background and button images would do wonders.

We deny change because there is literally no reason to change it. While it may look outdated I believe that it simple and plain look is much more pleasing than any other. Unless you have an example of something simple yet modern that will be worth in the long term to show you won't get far.

Rule number one in life: You can't please everybody.

I highly doubt that's the number one rule in life.

Couldn't get the forum, but thats what the main page used to look like. The forum looked similiar. Way back when there were signatures and a very popular competition of whom had the largest post count.

Halomaps forum is good but the maps are not.

The only good multiplayer map I played on was bigass and foundry.


However my own opinion I think dennis should upload maps if its good and not buggy.

"Good" is a matter of opinion. He uploads every map that doesn't crash on startup, I believe. I'd rather have a wide variety of maps that I can pick and choose from than to be limited to a handful of maps because all the others were arbitrarily rejected.

Go to any of the bigger threads and attempt to visit the last pages in them either via the 'last page' link or the numerical ones. Chances are you'll end up at a blank screen.

This is because the site still attempts to account for any posts that have been deleted either directly or retroactively by the ban of a user, thus incrementing higher than is actually necessary on the index page. It's a minor annoyance but one that's always bugged me.

I have been reading your comments again, and everybody talks about how simple it is and the fact that they want to keeo that intact. But the thing is, we are talkingbout a GRAPHICAL improvment, which will make the forum motr attractive to new comers. Still negative to that?
