well i tried to talk to bean about it, guess he doesn't know how to scroll up, oh well. so, spikeymikey, if you're looking for better shaders and post effects in H:CE, i feel like you're going about it wrong, micro$of'ts dx11 is overrated tbh. i feel like you'de be better off modifying and making new shaders for OS. since you said you're more of a texture guy however, i'd recommend asking to help CMT, with the loss of Dano i feel like they could use another good texturer to fill his place (not sure how good you are though). lastly, if none of that appeals to you, bean, myself, and a few others made an indie team a short while back to try and create a halo title for the pc, what we need most, is more modelers and texturers. if you're interested, talk to bean about joining team.

The main reason why i want to go to dx11 is for the water, and maybe a few other things.. but yeah, i do reckon making shaders would probably be better, i guess :3 but i wouldnt know where to start with making one xD and CMT are amazing with what they've done, but yet again, i'm not too sure i'd be good enough for them :) and i'd love to join you guys, i just hope that i actually do a good enough job :3 i just need to find some of my old work with graphics and stuff like that ^_^ because right now, i feel i have nothing in my arsenal to show you guys xD

uurm.. sure? xD
I'm a graphics designer, primarily based around textures, sprites and particle effects.. i also do random stuff that i post to here: spikeymikey0196.deviantart.com
I'm very basic with what i can do with coding at the moment, but i'm currently touching up my skills day in day out :3 i know html, javascript, a little c++ and how to code in cube 2.. but at the moment, thats about it xD
I'm willing to learn though, so if you set me a task, i will go and learn how to do it, then do it xD i've done a massive overhaul of Cube 2 and made my own version of the engine with global illumination and better textures,effects, sounds and gui :3 i tried to do modelling but i'm not that good at it, i'll try provide some links to the models i've made :3

if you'd like to talk to the I01 team about design, i'll take your questions. i'm currently the lead concept artist, so most of the design flows through me. however, i'v already done concept art for many of the misiriah armory weapons, and those aren't likely to change much, but i'm still open to hear opinions/suggestions, though for now my work is not to be shared outside the team.

Yeah, i'm still currently trying to find all of my old stuff aswell as combine my new stuff at the moment :) but yeah, i'll be more than happy to get stuff to you when i can :3

Hey guys,
Sorry, I've not posted in over two weeks.. I've just been really busy with stuff lately :)
I'm currently in the process of getting a new graphics card and a new case and everything, meaning I've had to sell my current PC to be able to afford the new stuff :3 so just bare with me for like two more weeks max, then i'll be able to get something done :3

I think i get what you're saying. And it's not All impossible. I mean, sure, we could create/edit the bitmaps to make them more realistic and just replace the ones in the bitmaps.map to update the entire game. Do the same for the sounds. But models? models you'd have to do in every map, on everyone's PC. Maybe if you found a way to do like an auto update where it would just replace it on everyone's PC's, but getting the access to do that isn't really possible. And updating it to using DX11, you'd need the source code of the engine, which microsoft isn't willing to hand over. All in all, yeah. Textures, Sounds, Models, Animations, ect. All doable, not practical in all senses. But possible.

EDIT: What if you did all of the modifications and built a new installer?

you dont necessarilly have to make a new update, what you could do is use NSIS (an exraction program) as a way of creating an installer that would replace the current files with the updated files we've made.. and i understand the whole dx11 wouldnt work now, i did a bit of research on it all and it was a bit stupid of me to suggest that :) but yeah, that's how we'd go about updating the files ^_^ anyway, talk later.
