Lately many of you have been have been showing the finest displays of epic bickering, and I have some suggestions for you;

From now on, please take these fights to either your PM boxes, other sites, or among threads specifically intended for these trivial arguments, and settle your differences there if it can't be handled in a civilized manner.

By waging these flame wars, you are not only wasting time in general, but you are also giving this community, and Halo CE map makers bad reputations. You are portraying yourselves as immature fools and that isn't a good thing to begin with.

Most of these fights are over nothing important in the first place, I see no reason why it matters. In fact, in real life this has little to no significance. Halo Custom Edition map making is non-profit, not known to the mass population in real life, and the fame gained from this is lesser than popular youtube videos.

I want you all to ask yourselves; what's the prize for causing all this negativity?

The purpose of Halo map making was for fun, as was this site. But if you continue this, the community will be a rather unhappy experience, and will become desolate in the long run. So please, discontinue the cruelty, be supportive, and do the right thing.

Peace-

I appreciate your efforts and there is a communal agreement to this

but there is little a single post can change when rules are hardly enforced, and people will abuse the lax rules.

If enough complaints are issued to Dennis then I'm sure he will do something about it.

It's worth a try though. I doubt Dennis wants this forum to become deserted due to users leaving because they no longer have the patience to deal with the adolescents deducting the level of enjoyment of the forums.

his flat-out refusal to enforce the rules he created and the sheer lack of dedication(he only comes on for, what, 2 minutes a day?) pretty much shows he doesn't care either way, as long as he gets the ad revenue.

So, you're saying none of the known trolls got banned in recent years?

The thing is, they're rather irritating and cause excellent projects to be cancelled. I think the community would thrive more without them, don't you?

Meh.. I'd report these "trolls" to Dennis but I feel like there's no real point in doing so, y'know? I feel like we'd all be a bunch of boring drones without an argument or two to liven things up. In a way, I guess trolls are kind of a necessity in an online community. It makes things interesting.

I wouldn't considerate it spam.
It actually doesn't matter what you think, it only matter what the moderator of the forum thinks. This is how forums work.

It's funny to see that coming from an instigator.

Yeah, I'm an instigator. It's all in light-hearted fun, though. Besides, I'm "new"
They say that the best way to have people to warm up to you is to not put emphasis on the fact that you're new. People admire when you jump right in and start working. When you act like you're new then it intimidates people and makes them feel as if it's there obligation to show you the ropes, which is kind of annoying.
So.. Yeah.

I am the forum moderator not everyone's parent to teach them how to act properly. I have no way to prevent adolescent conduct. It is a condition only cured by time. When the rules are broken the offenders will be ejected.

You could try an non-electoral government system consisting of three of the most active law-abiders to keep people in line. I did that with some of the forums I've ran back in the day.

You have been reported. You could have easily avoided this, you know. I don't understand how and why you'd willingly do any of this, but you obviously don't fear getting banned. Why did you join this community if you really didn't want to contribute or help out?

The way I see it, this is the best we're going to get from a Halo CE modding community. Every other forum that has tried to theme itself around that has failed in one way or another(or died). I don't think dentist is going to update halomaps, or at least the forums, because of some people who deviate from the topic. And I definitely don't see any moderators being added soon.

Other than my Hello-world tombraider model and my current Mw2 to Halo map project, I haven't really contributed much to the community. In reality, though, I've been on the site for less than three months. It's expected for me to have a bit of a slow start, I guess. Report me if you see fit and if the allegations are accurate, I'll be faced with repercussions, whether willingly or unwillingly. Let me say, though, that this 2 months of close observation and interaction with the men and women of the Halo maps community has been a pleasure. I enjoyed looking at some of the work that you'd all put out and having an area where I could provide feedback on said-work. However, it is my understanding that my ban is imminent. My only wish is that I could've given a more formal farewell. Oh well, though. 'Looking forward to what ever is posted in the future and I'm going to continue working on my own map. Apologies if my standards did not meet up with the site's requisitions.

Altheros, can you please stop trolling?

First of all, who is Altheros again? I'd like to be knowledgeable on a person before I'm compared to them. I like a little information with my information, I guess.
Second of all, you'd find that I rarely "troll" if you took the things that I've said to face value. I'm not attempting to be sarcastic or facetious in any way. I've understood that some people find trouble in differentiating something that should be taken at face value from something that should be taken with a hint of salt. I'd hate when people would interpret my sarcasm as my actual view and would attempt to verbally assault me because of it. This happens a lot when I'm commenting on YouTube or Yahoo. So, I refrain from using sarcasm in many online communities. My views of you all are all legitimate. In the times that we weren't all bickering, I've actually enjoyed some of the input that you've all given on each other's work.
Third thing, since you're comparing me to another person; Could I give you some advice on how to verify your accusations? When I ran a few forums, I would monitor the traffic. I wouldn't only take notice of their account names and the emails they used to sign up but I'd also take notice of the MAC address (address of the computer that cannot be changed) and IP address of the account in question. That way, I can prevent the "troll" from coming back to my site, no matter what account he signs up under. You can do half of this with a simple Cmd command. "Tracert" is one. After you have the IP of the site, you can find the IPs that are connected to it and viola, you're done. It's that easy. If your report didn't ban me, I'm pretty sure me telling you this will. Anyhow, just consider it, alright?

Stop calling me Altheros, and I love Anime. Deal with it, hun. Besides, Anime>
Look at Hellsing, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Highschool of the Dead, Sword Art Online
I can only name like 3 bareable western cartoon shows on currently.
Regular Show, Adventure Time, and maybe The Amazing World of Gumball.
Wait, How did we get so off topic?

As you've noticed from my recent posts log, I like to see people argue because half the time, it's just downright funny. lol I'll even do things to piss off both sides.

and trust me, even though I help people, I'm many times more sadistic than Altheros.
