IGN (parent company who owns GameSpy) announced today that they will be shutting down that business.

Seems like only the news department's shutting down.

Correction: Only Gamespy the website's closing. Gamespy and Gamespy are different companies(if that even makes sense xD). Gamespy, the news site, is owned by Ziff Davis. Gamespy, the server company, is owned by Glu Mobile. Only Gamespy, the news site, is being winded down. Ziff Davis has no association with Glu as far as I know so Gamespy, the server company, will be unaffected(unless of course Glu has issues too :P). |

you do realize my friend that it is only gamespy.com shutting down not gamespy technology's (now owned by GLU corporation) which manages the servers
