I had a weapon design way back for a human plasma weapon that would essentially work like the plasma rifle, with a sniper power mode. Essentially. While no zoom, automatic shots would be fired about like the PR, however, when scoped, would produce a high energy plasma bolt with extra distance and damage, but consumed much more of the plasma clip (yes clip. humans like to deal in clips not weapons that decide to just stop having the ability to work).

it's just i see you mentioned plasma so i wasn't too sure if this would mean, or where it might mean animations in an area of the gun to allow cooling of an internal part or something similar to that.

I would much prefer if you helped with the SP or FF maps, if you want to help me, pm me the sketches so I can review them before release, otherwise, you can post ideas as you will.

However, I am slightly worried that splitting the team may prove detrimental, so I would like it if we did not start modeling the SP/FF maps until this MP map is finished.

This will also give you more time to refine your designs, as there is a lot more game mechanics going into a SP map then a MP map. (encounter locations, checkpoints, objectives, etc.)

lol you don't need permission to redraw stuff. Trust me, I really don't mind... about anything. You need to realize. I am WAAAAAY laid back in my life about pretty much everything.

sounds about right, but I'm not sure I will be able to help with lighting unless someone shows me how.


anyway, here is the complete aerial via (note that the braces are not there because It's impossible to compensate for the curvature in gimp)

black rock extends to the top of the waterfall, grey rock is lower, varying height (you should be able to see the tops of the grey rock)

only the central structure is accessible, so you don't need to make a collision model for them.

We will also need to start collecting tree, bush, rock, and grass assets.

beautiful.

We will need higher poly rocks for the area near the structure, but for the distant boulders, those will be perfect.

no, no by all means post, I just would like you to pm aesthetic changes made to my map design.

also, the layout for said map is still open to change, is everyone happy with it? If so, I'll finish up the aesthetics and designs.

Oooooh, that's what you meant. I thought you meant every concept art i was doing, because when i posted the elite you told me to stop. And also, i'm not going to change anything if you don't want me to do it. It's your map, so i have no right to force you to let me change any of it. You haven't asked for my help, so I'm not going to do any changes to it. :)

Also, i decided to redraw them. They would usually look better after redrawing.
Edit: Redraw the weapons. Not the map.

the reason I asked you to change the elite design was because the poses can make it hard to interpret the model. you can pose them as a prelim, but once you get to the final stages of design, try using the anatomical position, and various viewpoints.

Crap sorry I don't know why I am just seeing this post.
yes we could always use an extra hand. As soon as we have the final aesthetic structure designs we will be having a good bit of work on our hands actually modeling the map so we could really use some help. Not just in modeling by the way, but in anything from texturing to scripting, etc...

Also, as far as scripting goes, I was thinking since mancannons have never been made to work correctly because explosions cause the player to lag, what about attachments? I know projectiles can attach to the player hence needles, could it be possible to make their trajectory/speed once contacting the player be the prevalent trajectory until the projectile expires? Think anyone could do anything along those lines with a script?

I wouldn't do that, even the best method so far (scripted vehicle entering animations) are iffy at best. It would be better to stick with teleporters.

none so far that don't make your player jump around so no one can barely see you in them as of yet.

Now would be a good time to start developing that :D
had to happen eventually, why not now with a fresh team?

Ideas:
-modify gravity using an invisible, instant spawn Custom Powerup
-zero damage directed explosions under the lifts
-invisible vehicle hit with an explosion? (think a warthog on bloodgulch being hit with a rocket launcher)
-modify some trait using a modified overshield pickup
-increase jump height
-shift gravity

-really fast moving platform? (vehicle?)
-multiple tele in-out points (meh)

I am also working on the Aesthetic design for the structure interior

Scenery design is pretty much done, if someone can start modeling the cliffs, waterfall, and waterfall braces, that would be great.

I think that our things don't have to be high res, just make it look like it is, while still making it look good.
