@Hiralis, it looks fairly nice so far, hoping to see a weapon set that is a bit more consistant as far as particles and such. Also, at 2:40 in the video, the Elite should react to the grunts in front of him dying, considering he is staring straight at them :\ not sure if that is possible, but it just looks rather strange.

@hiralis' trailer;

so much orange
I like how the TBR's clip takes a lot of effort to pull out, yet it practically gets sucked into the gun.
on the topic of its animation, the melee is really slow.
I'm guessing the whole "seeing islands through the water" thing is gonna be fixed at some point.
the original "In Amber Clad" song is better than that muffled remake, imo
plasma grenade, more like plasma flare :U
hunters dying in 1 shot? heresy!
the massive detail change from the TBR to the shotgun is really jarring, one of the two have to change.
the room where the music changes is very dull, being a box with a pillar in the center, but I guess that's also gonna change later.
the thin bridge over the water is a tad out of place, since one would place a wider bridge over a river as there is no other way around and multiple people may have to cross at a time.
the TBR could be a little louder imo; it seems a tad ridiculous that you were that close to the enemies without being detected.
the water's reflection is a little bright considering how close it is to the player.
delicon would cry at those AMBER shotgun sights, huehuehue

other than that, it looks intriguing! well, except for the grass texture. really dirty, it is.

So I'm making textures too then?

Also, is that sketch what you were looking for?

I have some more landscapes if anyone cares to see them.

how so?

The thing in the sketch is part of a ring satellite.

Could I get an idea of what you want exactly?

before I go any further, I would like some questions answered, if you don't mind.

1) why was I not informed of this ODST project?
2) what is being developed now?
3) what happened to the MP map that was designed?

some requests, terms of service, if you would prefer

-I would like to be kept up to date with the projects being done by the team, and offer input into map development

-I would like to know what my assets are being used for, to improve upon the design (in example, you asked me to design a space station, yet did not specify what kind, nor what will be occurring on it (yes, its's important to the design))

-I would like the ability to review developed assets, and offer advice concerning aesthetic appeal, and setting a mood (in example, grates and dark corners/narrow corridors inspire uncertainty, and nervousness)

I'll accept

but again, I need specifics on what the station is for

research-what are you researching? Is there any sort of extraction involved?
escape?
assault?
is the station doomed?
I need a script and a plot.

*ugh. looking at this I have SO much stuff to do.

I have 2 maps here and another... surprise map that I am working on with someone else. Anyone else in this group able to model forerunner and help out?
I have a few things, but they are still mostly pieces and unfinished stuff. Not saying I don't want to do the modeling, but really, being honest, I may need just a tad bit of help.

I feel like it's suffering from Halo Reach syndrome: too many characters, there won't be enough time to get to know them all and or to care about them.
Go with less ones, if you can. 3 or 4 at the most, that way you can really develop them and make them likeable.

I remember a Portal 2 developer comment on how they were going to have different cores including Wheatley along with the player throughout the game, but they just went with one core (Wheatley) to really flesh out that scumbag.

(The other cores became the corrupted cores at the end)

There's only 7 characters, and its not actually in my control what stays and what doesnt (Mind you, these ODSTs actually took quite a bit of time to make). Also you play as the first one, so there's that.

And the names are pixelated because i just scaled up the original texture, which is a 64x128 bitmap (Or other way around, i never remember)

Couldn't you have just used a text layer in PS to show the names?

that would mean a different texture every time for the WHOLE armor. The reason decal types are used is to make it so you don't have to do that to every spartan just to add a name or something. You just take a plane and go out like .05 from the armor and it looks close enough and the only added texture size is for the small name area not the whole 1024x1024 texture over and over and over.

We've been discussing an H3 tagset, but I for one would like to see some H4 promethean weapons implemented

face it, H4 may be bad, but the weapons are undeniably awesome.

Halo 4 is fun. I hope you get a lot of inspiration from the work they put into the campaign. However I'm not entirely sure about the Promethean idea.

Actually, thats exactly what i did lol. Each name is a different decal.

Edit: Except minus it being on the whole armor, Just the name on its own. having it placed on the armor would be a bit rediculous (Except i did that with some of my other custom ODSTs because of the fact that their entire armor had changed colors)

It might be fun, but it's not even at the heels of the original trilogy's campaign...
