I have a question for you though, how does it feel knowing that everything you learned about Bungie's SP scripts comes from ShadowSpartan?

guys, guys, guys let this thread be a life lesson for u, this goes for any situation, not just this forum, throughout life u will come across people with an opinion different to ur own, no amount of clever arguing or debating will change another persons opinion, it will only make them try harder to defend it. this argument will not be resolved through debate, it will only escalate to the point where people r making offensive personal insults towards each other and eventually everyone loses. please stop this nonsense,

members who have been around for a while have seen this happen in the forums so many times before, it never ends well, best just to agree to disagree and move on :)

For Adjutant. If you have auto update checks turned off, click Options > Check for updates. Otherwise it should prompt for an update shortly after you open it.

When it updates it also downloads the changelog, which says what's new in each update.

No not at this point. I can't find anything online about the format, the closest I can find is DXT5n (DXN). In fact, I haven't found any variants of DXN at all, let alone the one I need.

I learnt most things just by using hs.doc, it's a very complete scripting reference. Once again you are full of nonsense LMAO. A few things I did indeed use Z-team's script release for such as making cutscenes skippable, that's about all I really ever used them for.

Not everyone is limited to copy pasting scripts Masterz. Some people actually know how syntax works and how to use documentation.

And no sir, you did not touch a nerve. I refer to the Lance Armstrong analogy as to why I don't bother adressing the continued bs you and shadow were spewing out.

While you have all been busy arguing, I managed to get somewhere with the DXT5a formats. Here is an image depicting the monitor illum finally in a recognizable state:


Clearly it needs work, but hey, its progress.

indeed i noticed that the monitor illum wasn't working yet, if i remember correct i think waffles might have needed it for when he was doing the halo3 monitor tag.

are alot these bitmaps that show alot of blue normal?
the reason i ask is i used an older extractor for a few bitmaps a while ago and the results were grey toned bitmaps without the blue.

Yea the illum's often have a lot of blue. I got the lines out and it's blue now, but still pretty fuzzy and mixed around.

they are both named waste_panel_wall_diagonal ,except i added GM to the end of yours.

Odd. I just checked it in my app and it looked exactly the same as the 2nd picture. How long ago did you extract it and what version were you using?

The first image you showed is "levels\solo\070_waste\bitmaps\waste_panel_wall_diagonal" which is a DXN_mono_alpha image, which isn't fully supported.

"levels\multi\riverworld\bitmaps\forerunner\waste_panel_wall_diagonal" however is a DXT5 and should extract normally.

Fixed up the red and green channels. Should look better now. However, I don't believe that the illumination bitmap should be bluish in rgb but this is all we got so far...

Yea, I'm not entirely sure the colours are right either. I guess I'll have to find someone who's done it before and see what's right and what's wrong. For now the only things I think are definitely wrong are the channel alignment, the pixelated edges and the bottom right pixels being missed.

Edit: I found out the green channel needs to be cycled 4 pixels to the right, and the blue is fuzzy because it comes from the red and green which aren't aligned. I just can't get it to cycle without screwing it up... Also I think the channels are mixed up as well, but then I get problem of a missing red channel like in DXNMA...

I think this is right:

The bottom right pixels are no longer being missed, and the alignment is fixed. Apart from pixelation on some images, I think its pretty much right.

The DXT5a bitmaps are getting better, but I can't find anything on the DXN_mono_alpha types. For now you can see these types in Advanced mode (v2.0.6.0 update), but they're not finished. When I think they're finished they'll be available in normal mode and batch extraction.
