It's been a long time since I've modeled forerunner, but I decided to look at a few concepts through Halo 3 and Anniversary multiplayer. At first, I was trying something similar to the Joust map layout in Unreal Tournament in the sense that it would be 'chaotic'. But I decided to base it on a forerunner bridge in the high mountains of installation 04 during spring time. Once I have the whole bridge model complete, I will add some touch up details to the bridge and post some pictures again. I'm really excited to do the terrain for this level, I want to make it seem believable with a crashing waterfall leading out to an ocean and a custom skybox.

Is it me, or does it seema lot like that level on Halo 2 where you have to fight ont eh Gondola?(not Regret or Delta halo, the other one) It looks a lot like the Gondola there for some reason, if you take out the walls.

one thing i would like to point out is that if this map is being designed for ctf there needs to b more entrances into the flag room. all successful ctf maps have at least 2, sometimes 3 entrances to the flag, otherwise its just too easy to camp, especially when it's in a room. it looks really nice tho :)

it's great to see work like this being done every now and then, the structures are great. also the detail is very cool, i can see plenty of hiding places in there. i'm not on as much as normal, but i will be looking this thread up at every chance.

I love it aesthetically! I'm just a little worried about each side that is set into the hills. What do you have planned for it? My concern is that it looks a little empty. I admit to not having the rest of the thread though :p

nvm, I know what you are talking about.
Those are pretty much the spawn areas, but I do see what you mean. I'll see how it plays before adding cover around those areas. Edited by KingFisher on Dec 19, 2011 at 02:57 PM

I got the cliffs unwrapped and now I'm working on texturing the top part of the bridge. Just some of the UVW mapping you guys can expect.

It's not easy getting eight or more people to play on a medium-large sized map these days . But getting another person or three others to play with you is pretty easy to do with a smaller level. I just hope the gameplay works well with this map.

Looking good. Perhaps you could give single player mapping a try in the future? That way you don't have to worry about getting a bunch of people together to play MP :)
