HERP DERP I AM AN IGNORANT IDIOT AND HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT HERP DERP

Make it stop! Please God, MAKE IT STOP! I can't believe I'm even of the same species as you. Your opinions are so skewed that it hurts to read them.

In response to your first post:
1) You do realize games are in production for a while before they are announced right. Right?

2) I'm calling your bluff. I've never had that happen to me. I have the achievement for going through the first encounter on Truth and Reconciliation with out being seen. As far as the Warthog goes, its exactly the same as 10 years ago. Press the back button and see for yourself. Same with the banshee and ghost. The firing rate looks altered, because your used to the new games where the guns alternate fire, where as in CE, both fired at once, leaving more of a delay.

3) Again, same AI as 10 years ago. Shouldn't this be a good thing, that AI from 10 years ago is still a difficult foe? I swear, you shouldn't be on the internet.

Your post(s) about the soundtrack:
I... You... Uhm... What?
I swear, that rant about George Lucas doing the soundtracks made me want to punch my screen. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, and that's saying a lot.

Of course Marty isn't doing the Score's from now on, he works with Bungie. However, that doesn't mean they will be any worse. I can name a few games that have an amazing score, yet aren't composed by Marty.
Portal 2
Gears of War
Mass Effect
MW2(Game sucked, but Hanz Zimmer is a god)
Metal Gear Solid(Which by the way, is the composer for Halo 4.)
etc.

I fail to see the problem with the Soundtrack. It's a different orchestra playing the same songs from 10 years ago. Songs that were originally synthesized(as in, HCE didn't have a live orchestra to preform them.)

I still can't believe I'm of the same species as you. Surely no one can be this dumb. You MUST be trolling. It's the only logical answer for how stupid your being.

I agree very much with the original poster of this thread. Halo CEA is/was a rip off and i waste of good $40. I could have spent it on the new Mass Effect 3 that will be coming out early next year. Or i could have spent it on Halo 4...that is if IT even will be any good. I am going to give a great examples showing that Halo CEA was a poor choice of a game and a waste of my time.

1st: 343 Studios originally announced Halo CEA back in early June of this year, stating that it would be released sometime in early November (later on confirmed to be released on November 15). We (as in all of us) should have backed up and took a better look at the games picture. We should have said "Wow...HOLD ON! This is a remake of one of the biggest First Person Shooters that has ever hit a gaming console and it will be released in almost half of a year as a remake. Something does not seem right here. That is a near impossible feat to achieve. Something is wrong with this picture.

2nd: I have noticed SO many things wrong with this game it is not even funny. But here are just a few of them. I have noticed that when using that Sniper Rifle and you are crouching behind a hill waiting to kill that curtain Grunt or Elite and you reticule turns red (meaning you have a clear shot at that enemy) you decide to take the shot.....but it somehow COMPLETELY misses and his the hill in front of you instead of the enemy. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?! I have had this happen to me more then just one or twice. It has probably happened to me more then ten times by now. Apparently 343 Studios really messed up on the levels BSP geometry physics and made it seem like you have (or had) and good clean shot but in fact you will completely hit the hill and not the enemy.
Another thing......THE VEHICLES ARE SO MESSED UP! I mean the Warthog skids everywhere you drive it and has horrible breaks. The Banshee's rate of fire has been reduces by a ridiculous amount. And do NOT even get me started about the Ghost...which is now a pointless vehicle to even have in the game.

OH!...And one more thing...the AI are freaking annoying and way over powered in the Legendary difficulty. Ok, Halo Reach's AI were a challenge and hard to beat sometimes. But the new AI in Halo CEA are sometimes just down right impossible to beat and get passed. I spent a good hour (or two) just trying to get the last Banshee on the level Two Betrayals near the end of the mission and I had to turn the game off because of how ridiculously impossible it was trying to kill off the two wraiths, several invisible Elites and normal Elites, the 7-8 Grunts and all the other enemies (which included Hunters and Jackals). OH! and did i mention the couple of Flood which included 2-3 three of them had ROCKET LAUNCHERS. The game (at times) can be the utmost outrageous game ever. This game was meant more to be played as a Cooperative game and NOT single player.

These are so many things that i could talk about why this game puts shame to the Halo series and its name. 343 Studios...Thanks for really screwing up a good game and making it just down right crappy.

Hmm....Looks like someone does not know when to act mature or not. Making a quote up and saying someone said it when that person never said is just down right immature and you sir have just done that. You should not make up context about something that never was there in the first place. Like saying that i said this when i never even said it.

Umm...you just made yourself look like a complete fool by making up a quote to make me look bad, which in-turn makes you look like a complete moron.
Second of all. I do not bluff. I am telling the straight up truth and nothing more. I have had many instances where i have a clear shot at an enemy and my ridicule is red and yet i hit hill in front of me. Also another instance of you making yourself look like a fool is that you said that you got the Achievement on Truth and Reconciliation with out being seen. But i never specified that i was trying to go for that achievement and addition to that i never said what level i was having the problem on. The vehicle have actually been changed. The Warthog never did skid as bad as it does in Halo CEA. The Banshee actually had a higher rate of fire and the Ghost sure did not make huge ridiculous turns around corner.
About the AI....you really seem to not know what you are trying to say. I played the original Halo on Xbox original and even on my Xbox 360 and the AI are NOT as hard as they are in the Halo CEA even on Legendary.
Now about the music, i never said that other video game are bad and do not have potential. In fact i like a lot of other video game soundtracks. I clearly stated that when someone produces a soundtrack (weather it be Video game or Movie) that they should be allowed to continue to produce that soundtrack. By the way Marty did not work for Bungie itself, he worked for Microsoft. Marty only worked with Bungie because Microsoft hired him...hence the reason Microsoft owns the copyright rights to the Halo series.
One more thing, i do not troll. You might want to check the date that i joined compared to yours. If you notice i joined in 2008 and you joined recently in 2010. If i was a troll i would not have my account still on this forum and i would still not be posting on this forum. Once again you are just making yourself look like a complete fool.
And by the way...my original post was intended to express my feelings about the game and what is wrong with it.

There, feel better? My point was that all you said could be summarized in that phrase. All of your arguments are downright insufferable.

But let's get on-topic, shall we?

My point with obtaining the achievement is to prove that sniping is not, as you stated, broken, as I obtained it quite easily. As a matter of fact, you appear to be just skewing my words in an attempt to turn the conversation, and hide the faults in your argument.

As stated, the game is exactly the same. Press the back button and play a level. Then, open your Halo: CE case, insert it in your Xbox, and play the same level, as it was 10 years ago. Aside from the change in aspect ratio(4:3 to 16:9) there is no difference.

Once again, you are ill-informed. O'Donnell signed up to work with Bungie during the Myth series, an RTS game that Bungie made before moving onto Halo. Marty does indeed work with Bungie(not for, as he and Salvatori own their own music studio). He doesn't WANT to work on the soundtrack, he is working with Bungie on their next project.

I guess I'll get off topic again. I don't think almost 2 years counts as recent. However, a join date does not denote your maturity level. The notion that someone being around longer makes them correct all the time is just elitist.

If you are not a troll, then you are making an argument based on biased opinions and calling them facts. If anyone is the fool, it is you.

[ON-TOPIC]
I honestly love the game. Aside from some laziness when porting the models (Such as keys in his captains suit during 343, or the Scorpion having a hole where the turret used to be). I have no complaints. As Masters said, the game does show its age, but can you criticize something accomplishing what it set out to do? That would be like criticizing someone for wanting to make green, so they mix blue and yellow paint.

But the green the person could make could be a perfect green, or a green that's too into the yellow side or a green that's too into the blue side. When they could have fixed those little errors, they instead chose to just leave it be. I think that's the point that the OP is making.

I commend you, sir. That was an excellent point. It would be great if that was OP's point, but from everything I have read, I can say with the utmost certainty, it isn't. The point was to start a topic dedicated to nit picking at a game that accomplished what it set out to do. To criticize something without a good platform of arguments.

That, and few things in this world can be labeled as perfect. To try so hard to tear apart a game on such loose terms is ridiculous.

Major gripe on Halo: Anniversary is the awful cutscene animations... you would think that with motion capture technology, they could do it better... but it was for the worse... the over-exaggerated movements and Cortana's fish mouthing... horrible.

I would love some new physics. Halo's original physics are very messed up. Unfortunately, the later Halos did nothing to improve this, they only made it more retard-friendly.
I'm a modern kinda guy, so don't assume I'd care at all about "how much they changed a classic.".

Your arguments are still invalid. :)

What... I mean seriously... Halo has extremely good physics for its time, even though they aren't very good by todays standards, I still fail to see how in the hell more recent Halo games made the physics "retard friendly". I am now thoroughly convinced that you are pulling random things out of your ass.

Bungie created its own in-house physics engine for HCE. Newer Halo titles used Havok. Still, grenade juggling is much more fun in HCE than other Halo titles...

Ring has the most rational and valid points of anybody, and I commend him.

Videoman, onto his 'misqoutin you', it only serves to reinforce his point, and its true: It was a load of rubbish. Saying Geroge Lucas produced it is preposterous, the COMPANY produced. Big difference. Its like saying the guy in charge of Halo Reach was doign allt he work. Besides, Geroge Lucas is probably working on the next three star wars movies.

Now, I doubt the music in the next trilogy will ever be the same as the awesome music of Martin O'Donnel and Michael Salvatori(In Amber Clad is my favorite song as well, just beautiful.)However, I think that it will be awesome music as well for Halo 4. If its not, I might see if there is a mod so you can have MOD and MS music.

I agree with subtank, the cutscenes are a bit..horrible. However, its a young company, and this is its first game produced. I have high hopes for 343, and I leave you in peace to debate this out.

While I am sure four years might be considered young for such company, I don't think I can forgive them for producing such bad cutscenes. They stated over the years that they are big Halo fans (most likely PR-bs); a good number of them are professionals/experienced individuals from other big gaming developers (I recall one was formerly from Kojima and few from Epic Games) and then you have Frank O'Connor supervising the development. Surely they can tell what is bad and what is good; they manage to do so with the armour, so why not the cutscenes? As others pointed out,it might be just laziness since they manage to get at least a few things right. And I'll say no further.

This is the most ridiculous part of your post.

Legendary on Halo 1 is EASY. If you can't handle it, there's a simple solution: Dun dun dun...

Do NOT play Legendary. O: Shocking, right?

And the game is run from the original game's AI and gameplay. CEA only adds a graphical overlay. And, here's a little news for your last sentence:

Halo 1 has NO Co-op Mode O:

And, finally, I speak not to videoman but to those who support CEA.

There is NO excuse for glitches. 343 may have run this game from the original engine, but have you seen HEK? You may or may not be aware that 343 has full access to Blam! and HEK's full source. Just throwing some news around here. :P

I think saying that Halo CEA has no Coop mode is a MAJOR fail right there. Nice try but you lost the game. And, if you don't know what the game is...just Google it.

I said Halo 1 has no co-op mode, I'm fully aware that CEA has a co-op mode. But, if you note what has already been said in this thread, CEA runs it's gameplay from, hmm, bet you can't guess it... They specifically mentioned the glitches that the first Halo game had would also be in Anniversary. That's also why they said that Anniversary would be a "direct" remake.
The blam! engine may not have been changed, if not minor things here and there.

EDIT> How about I mention that even the game magazines were willing to give random people +rep for completing the glitch/trick of the month for points. OFM, GameInformer, and some other ones did this. Websites such as HighImpactHalo had a section dedicated to tricksters. and some other website section called planethalo would go crazy for these glitches too. 343i may have done its research.

Hmm...from what you are stating Halo 1 and Halo CEA are different. Ya, that makes complete since (sarcasm intended). I am not sure when you last checked but Halo 1 and Halo CEA are the same. Just Halo CEA has better graphics and other added content. But you are saying the exact opposite. Halo CEA IS basically Halo 1, you might want do double check you information sources. Because from the information you are stating is completely wrong. Halo 1 DOES have Coop, and i know this for a fact because i have the game for Xbox with its original game case. And, to be more exact...it not only has 2 player coop but it can also supports up to 4 players campaign Coop.

I was stating Halo 1 and Halo CEA are exactly the same. But clearly you lack the intelligence to understand any real knowledge, so I'll just give up on attempting to englighten you now. -.-

Sometimes I like to think that no one can see my words. And that's why no one ever replies to me.

>Halo one had coop..... halo PC doesnt but halo combat evolved definately had it
>Halo PC doesn't but halo combat evolved definately had it

You disappoint me.

Halo 1 XBOX has coop, Halo 1 PC does have it setup for coop but it was never finished and it's all left over code last I was told.

so then his statement is still true

remnants of something doesn't mean it's been fully implemented and is supported

But you're forgetting one thing.

Halo 1 PC Legendary is possible and doesn't support coop.

Halo Anniversary is based off the same AI and difficulty levels as Halo 1 XBOX AND Halo 1 PC. Which means...

HCEA Legendary is possible.

Dun dun dun...

The only Halo campaigns on legendary I consider to be 'impossible', eg, very hard, and yes, VERY hard, are Halo 3, and perhaps ODST.

However, they aren't impossible. If you mean impossible as in actual no chance of ever completing it, you are wrong. If you mean impossible as in very hard, well, it is the HIGHEST difficulty.

Anyway, if its either of those, practise.
