It's just the rig was bad for his.
Edited by P3 on May 24, 2012 at 09:32 PM

This is what happens when people leak my stuff lol. Stuff gets all over the place and unfinished work gets out

Before any of you go ranting on me that it's not mine, i'll let you know this first off. That Biped rip came from Daniloc. I personally asked him to do it for me and my mapping team but the files got leaked after i breifly showed Daniloc how to setup the rig. With that being said, the ripping and stuff was mine, the rig was bad only due to the fact that it was literally a 10 second envelope rig.

Wont matter now though, Waffle's ODST will trump it anyways, and we'll all have less to worry about.

im fixing right now.

EDIT:
fixed the odst fp arms, both versions. you guys gotta lemme know if i screwed up next time.

I recursively extract tags when I release something so that nothing is ever missing (even stock tags).

Also, do you have an Xfire?

Sweet. I never browsed this forum so just a quick question.
All/Most of the models that are based from H2/H3 and such are ripped from the retail game, or have you modeled them yourself?

I didn't go through the whole thread because there's 20 pages and a lot of people typed in a lot of text. I read High School level books yes, because I am a HS'er, but honestly it seemed a bit scary to read all of it. I simply skimmed through.

apparently type 39 bitmaps are poopy to extract.

You know just because its a Type 39 bitmap doesn't stop you at all, you can edit the file to make it extract and do some photoshopping. That's how you can get Dutches decals and minor other things from H3 if you so desire, along with Type 44 bitmaps in Reach, you can change those too and do photoshopping.

094, mind explaining how that works? i've personally tried ripping some of the bipeds from H3ODST and i can NEVER seem to get Romeo's right shoulder armor (which imo is one of the best at that)

No idea what program your using at all, it's likely a fault in the code. Bitmaps you can change numbers and stuff like that (not sure of what it's been to long since I've looked at Ascension/Alteration), thats how I did it with the H3 Elite bitmaps and purposefully left my FTP open for people to get the h3 elite bitmaps in which somebody(people) did way back then. There's a lot more tricks I figured out by tinkering around and corrupting maps sometimes because I messed them up too much

This is my last post of the night got exams tomorrow and will be out of High School (urk I've been in this community since middle school, I feel old)

Personally i use Adjustant because its far easier to use than eXtraction. It still works on the same coding as Extraction but gives it a better UI and simplicity to find things such as bitmaps and models

Those are from Halo 3. Not much different than the post processed effects huh?

These are mine.

FYI, these were drawn without using the retail bitmaps in anyway, even as a reference.
Tiny pic porked the quality a bit, but you get the idea.

I have a good porition of the h3 UI icons extracted, some are not pretty looking or resolution wise they suck. And I'm not going to bothered to look in my External HDD for them.

be like me, dedicate a day to animating then have your best animator clean it up for you to get some variation. then have another set day for doing modeling and texturing and etc.

i do this only because it makes it easier for me to remember everything (Since im a multi-mode map maker i guess you can call it)

This is a really late post but I just got around to using these and got this error:

I'm using the one off of Halomaps, if that makes any difference.

Waffles posted an update on the FP arm stuff, you'll have to get it. I already mentioned this to him b/c for some reason nobody else did.

i just havent gotten around to it just yet. but if you realllllly want to use the odst, delete the shader model tags, and make your own. just make sure you use the old names so you dont have to worry about references.

and as to the scenery, i dont have very good collision for the crates. some angles bullets, and even bipeds can go through the geometry.... and you cant stand ontop of them without bouncing like crazy or getting trapped! i honestly dont know what is wrong with the collision. looks absolutely fine in 3ds max, and when i debug in sapien...

What is this debugging you speak of (i'm serious.)

Is it like playtesting a map in sapien? :o

i fixed those tags, and updated that post btw. even ranted about it for a little bit. got some help fixing it, those links above are the fixed versions.

That's good I'll DL those now. Make sure to submit and updated version to Halomaps.org though, as I browse the file archive way more than I do the forums. Thanks.

Even if you take over a biped, sapien doesn't recognize your input. Even if you import your ingame profile into sapien, it doesn't recognize the input keys.

it was once part of sapien, but the required things seem to of been removed. Hit the top button that looks like a camcorder (third from the left hand side, second from right.. beside the stickman) click a biped. Press shift+v. Have fun *shrug*. Shift+Q to leave the body, theres third person options aswell, etc. If you get into the control config, everything is shown as ???, even when you load the stuff from your profile (you should be able to use profile_load <ingame profile> with OS_Sapien to load your controls, but they dont work.)

a few others,
debug_objects:
Enabling this command will give visual representations of the game objects or models bounding radii and collision models.

debug_portals:
Enabling this command will draw or outline the portal definitions in the game.

debug_sound:
Enabling this command will give visual representations of the sounds being played and their audible radii along with labels indicating the specific sound being played to the player.

error_suppress_all:
The suppression of error messages is by default on, disabling the error suppression (setting the value to 0) will show errors being encountered by the game and is useful in debugging content and game problems.

they are just from the hek.

edit: knew nothing about the stuff kirby just mentioned about the biped.
Edited by ally on Jun 4, 2012 at 01:14 AM
ah he's talking about os_sapien, the stuff i posted is only normal sapien.
