OK, I'm softmoding my Xbox. (hard thing to do at 13)
And, I'm wondering if there's any way to play Halo Custom Ed. on it?
Thank you in advance.

YEP THERE'S A WAY TO PLAY HALO CUSTOM EDITION ON XBOX AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SOFT MOD IT! YOU JUST NEVER HEAR ABOUT IT BECAUSE WE ALL DECIDED IT'S NOT WORTH INVESTIGATING.

Please think about things before asking about them.

Uh well actually if you can indeed convert the maps to the xbox format and play them on it. I'm not sure how, never done it, but some guy here a long time ago did that.

Didn't CMT originally port their first campaign mod for xbox?

Yes, you actually CAN port custom edition maps to the xbox. I don't remember the name of the app, it's been years. All I can remember is that it was only handed out to a few people, and someone leaked it to a small amount of people. I'll see if my old buddy has it.

Theres a certain satisfaction from when your playing a map on the actual xbox, rather then just your pc... + the controls with the xbox controller on the PC are pretty horrid in comparison.

You can change the controls in the options menu, no?

You try leading with an Xbox controller on HPC/HCE. It's not worth it.

Just in case you want me to be more specific, HPC/HCE doesn't allow smooth scrolling with controllers, it just jerks your view over even if you just nudge the controller's analong stick.

Obviously on the Xbox, you can smoothly scroll your view and walk slowly.

You can do it. Use the program HMVC (Halo Map Version Convertor) and shove it in the maps folder...

But alot of times there are gay shader errors with all the trippy colors. Because xbox Halo uses bitmaps.map, and loc.map

I used to use my old XBOX s-type controller for Halo PC\CE. It did move smoothly and even let me walk in SP maps.
As for the leading, there was a 'cheat' that enabled reticle magnetism. but I forgot what it was.

Lol, jesse botting.
This one gamepad I have works fine, but my other, a legit xbox controller, isn't really configured for halo. I could joytokey it, and have it work just as well.

Player_Magnetism 1, might only work with OS though.

Yeah that's it! It works for MP and SP, but in MP it makes it tough to lead because it makes you aim AT the biped instead of where it will be.

I actually have a second Halo on my Xbox that is only multiplayer and it's all custom maps.

Do you just download it, burn it to a CD, put it in your Xbox and it will play? Or do you have to mod your Xbox.

If your xbox is modded, just FTP it to your [Games] directory.
Or you can go ahead and burn it, because modded xboxes play burnt games.

Are we talking about regular Xbox or xbox360?

Original Xbox, a friend of mine modded it so I could FTP emulators and games to it, though the only one I had on there was Halo with the custom maps for LAN parties.

It was a set someone else created, not sure how they did it but all the maps (atleast most) are on this site so I'm assuming they just needed to create a separate .EXE or whatever program type the Xbox recognized.

Hizlo ran a site called halomaps.com.
They hosted the custom maps for xbox, and a program called "arsnic" (i dunno if that was used for xbox though)
The halomaps.com site has been down for ages, maybe google can find something from the info i gave you.

halo lags during the silent cartographer for me on the xbox, but then again it's the xbox originals version I downloaded to the 360. that's how modern people play old video games :p
