I'm much less excited for this than I am for the Halo CE remake. Why? Because the CE remake is still 75% Bungie's work. The multiplayer looks like Reach's, and the campaign is obviously Halo CE's. Those were both still Bungie games, but Halo 4 isn't. But I'll wait and see.

I dont think Halo is finished. If that's true about 343 making Halo 2, then the next Halo will be great. Halo 2 was a fantastic game, and it had a great storyline.

Actually Halo 2 was made by bungie, but 343 is basically a team comprising of Loyal ex-Bungie members who quit bungie to join 343 because they hate Activision. The rest of bungie members went multiplatform (@&*#$^!*&$^ You Activision)

I just watched the e3 for Halo 4. It has potential, but it's like what this one person posted on the video: They are treading dangerous waters (reffering to 343 making Halo 4.)
All's I'm gonna say is, I hope it keeps its "Halo feel". I don't want some action packed bull**** like that. It looked like Mass Effect (Which is a great game), but I don't want Halo to be like Mass Effect. It would be great if Chief fought on Onyx with the other spartans. I'd like to see him fight with his own kind for once, instead of marines.

I totally agree with Sel, and ODX.
Also, I know this is the wrong thread and place, but ODX do you still animate? If so, I've got something for you that will make everyone happy.

...which they now just completely killed. Honestly, I thought Bungie ended Halo beautifully (TWICE, Reach's ending was brilliant as well!) with the "Wake me, when you need me," and the set-up for Cortana and Chief drifting off through space or something for "hours, days, years even" yet here 343i just raped that whole ending by having him wake up a few minutes later. How did you know it was a few minutes later? There was no indication of how much time had passed, it could have been centuries for all we know.

As much as i hate to say it, i am dissapoint. The heap looks nothing like Halo 3's The ending like ODX said was great, and NOW theyre just milking it. Where is the creativity? With Halo 3's ending, you couldve come up with what happens next. Wondered about it forever. Now, they just killed it. I love the armor though, but its probably not gonna look as good ingame when it comes out. Dissapoint. Totally completly Dissapoint.
And what happened to the normal 3 year thing. Theyre gonna make it in to CoD by making a new one every year. Seriously F 4 ( |( you, 343 and activisiion. Edited by Spartan 279 on Jun 7, 2011 at 12:46 PM

Alright guys, stop droning on about how it's being "milked" for a second and just read this post from a friend of mine: Quote: Original message by: Mubox (JK-47)
I think it's a bit early to judge whether they're milking the series. Sure at first when I hear they're making up to Halo 6 I'm just like "WAT", and I'm still a bit weary. But the Halo universe is huge, and while they've covered a lot of material in the games, there's still so many things they could dwell into that they barely touched in the last 3. Don't get me wrong, I love the stories of the old ones, but I feel like too much time was wasted running and gunning through the flood and covenant, they didn't focus on things that make the books so awesome. Honestly, I think the stories in the first 3 are s*** compared to what the books get into. If these new ones are as awesome as the books, then they could make many more Halos for all I care.
Not saying anything about anyone who disagrees with them expanding it. Have your views, that's fine, but I think people get too attached to the "I'm an original Halo player" mentality, where any thought of expansion in the story is selling out. There's a lot that I would love to see happen to the Halo series such as getting more into the story of the Forerunners which is obviously the direction this is getting into. I don't know about them time traveling, but there were various shield worlds stationed around the universe, you have to imagine a portion of the race was able to escape. I know the story is "They're all wiped out", but I think that was just setting us up for the shock of "Zomg there's still some left".
Sure story expansion could just be left up to the books. If that were the direction they took, I'd be fine with it, I love reading. But I also love the visual experience that comes with games and how you get to play through the story. This isn't just some fanboy counter-argument. I'll admit, I'm really attached to the halo series, but I also want what's best for it. And I think this is what's best, especially after the cliffhanger they left at the end of Halo 3. I would be more jelly if they just let it rest after blowing us away with this whole new universe full of great story potential.
I'm remaining in a "I'm not holding my breath" mentality, soley on the fact that we haven't seen anything yet aside from sudden new armor, a cock piece, and "oh look a new gun floating around". But the Halo series is full of inconsistency, a fact I'm now used to when I see these teaser trailers. But just because I'm not getting my hopes up doesn't mean I'm not keeping an open mind about it before I start picking at every pixel I see on the screen, because they have the potential to make this bigger than the past games. They also have the potential to f*** it up, but until I see more, I'm not making any judgements.

It was a developers gola.

There are just so many loose ends that need to be tied up.

Hahha no there aren't.
Also yes they are milking the series. They're coming up with an entirely new story, new enemies, new everything, and then just making it Halo, because they know mindless consumers (read: this forum) will immediately scream OMG EPIC just because it has the halo logo on the front and buy it just for that.
As soon as they have to make a completely new story to continue the franchise they're milking it. Sorry to burst your ignorant bubble :( Edited by SeL on Jun 7, 2011 at 07:46 PM

I can't believe some of you are saying they aren't milking the series... ODST was milking. Reach was milking. Halo Wars was milking. The true "Halo Series" is Halo 1 - 3. Even though both Reach and ODST were made by Bungie, the games were obviously made for money. Now showing that Bungie made Halo 3 a cliffhanger, and also said for 2 straight years that a Halo 4 would never ever be created. Making the new triology will ruin the 3rd game's great epicing to a really good series of games.

Just so we're all clear, Halo 4 has been in development for the past 2 years, according to Frank O'conner. (He is a part of 343, so you can be sure this is true.) He says that in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epKqy6CDUME&feature=feeduEdited by DieHard Bob on Jun 7, 2011 at 09:07 PM
