You open HEK + and then click tools, map protector. Browse to your map and click protect.

Check your private messages, i just sent you my xfire so we can talk it over more

The one thing you have to think about when protecting is if people will use something like Eternal Lightning to unprotect the map.

Yeah, I don't know how to use it either. I just know that some people do know.

You might as well not protect it dude, if you have ANYTHING that someone wants they WILL get it. You're wasting your time bro.

it's a community, were ment to share and do things to help others.
if someone wants something from your map, take it as a compliment that they like what you made.
take a look at some of the content that has been made unprotected simply to share.

edit typo :)

He asked how to protect maps, not whether it should be done or not. Maybe he is trying to protect a beta so that people can't steal the tags if it gets leaked.

Well, maybe if you don't want people to see how you expertly craft your maps by dissecting your .scenario.

If you want to protect a map protect the contents within and the map file.

I've done it for H2SPT,if you import bipeds you get the my bit array error, and if you rip my bsp's all the errors that plague a H2 bsp are brought back in 3ds max or gmax.

You should go for my method if you truly want to protect your map.

Does that apply only to bipeds and BSPs?

*Gets External Lightning ready*

You protect maps through HEK+, there is an option in there somewhere.

That won't stop anyone here though.

It applies to anything that can be imported through a max script in 3ds and gmax, models, and animations, and I have a method that makes compiled bipeds work fine once compiled but node info get's messed up once imported from it's orginal compiled form.

Ahhh but I would know the tags are mine as they can't be modified without alot of work which would be pointless as you want the tags to avoid work.

Lol you could protect the map by compiling the map with halo open Wich corrupts the cache file so when you open in hek+ nothing happens and you map is fine when you play it.than protect the same map with halo map protector and you can only open the map with you able to see the protected tags in some programs on this site I will not mention

but seriously.why protect a map unless it's a beta, only has tags you made or just has you want to change something for a final version without pleople getting your tags.and also there's no point if your map is just heaps of rips, downloaded tags and leaks forced into a bsp you didn't make :I.

What would be pointless is you trying to convince the entire community and everyone who plays the bloodgulch mod that you made the tags. Just because you identify them doesn't mean everyone else will, or that they will believe you. Your type of protection does you no good.

You left out one fact, some of my tags like the maps have never never been converted by any user ever I would be the first,i've done the research,so yes I would know there mine.

why protect it? protect maps=destroying community.
Beneficial? no. Selfish? yes. Delicious? definitely.
