Yes, I already posted this (twice :|), but considering I didn't get enough feedback on what needs improvement, I'm allowing all of HaloMaps to give the Package a try. 250MB in size, five maps: AoTCR, b40-arena, Cartographer, Conflict and Whiteout.

Don't try and upload the maps seperately, I highly doubt Dennis would let you. Along with the fact that the Map Pack is NOT complete, as I still have some adjustments to do on some of the scripts, it's pointless to even attempt to upload the maps seperately.

And again, not all weapons/vehicles are CMT, but the tagset is largely based on them. Four out of the five maps included are SP>MP conversions.

If you don't like either CMT tagsets and/or SP>MP conversions, either put your differences aside just this one time and see what can be improved, or do NOT post at all.

edit: i found 'aotcr' & 'b40 arena' (posted 2 years ago and theres a version 2?), but i can find the other three.

Not trying to be offensive here, but I don't think many people are going to play mods of SP maps in MP format. The last map looks nice though.

@Uber: Yeah, those are the older versions. Nobody (or close to) downloaded/played them just from the obvious lack of downloads that you can see. -sigh-

Also the reason why I'm using the Map Pack for download - if anyone tried to upload them to HaloMaps, there's already a few files with the same name to void it.



@Higuy: I know, right? Much of the Halo CE gamers out there love to play ridiculously huge, 5km box maps that have little to no gameplay value, whereas the real players want to see/use more compact, fun maps.

Also, Whiteout is a mod of a different MP map, although I can't remember which one it was



If anyone wants, I can provide a direct download link to bypass the first part (where it asks you to become a RapidShare PRO member).

Ripped and overused tags + bsps you didn't make = these maps. Basically all you can take credit for is the object placement, which means almost nothing. This is one of the same things we've all seen before, and if you're wondering why I'm being so aggressive it's because you posted this three motherF-ing times. Stop spamming your topic just because you aren't satisfied with the attention it gets.

@Sceny: MediaFire won't accept the Map Pack because it's over the upload limit of 200MB. I haven't tried MegaUpload, though.

@Cereal: I honestly didn't want to post the stupid topic three times, but I obviously cant double post, else I would have done it instead of remaking the damn thing two more times.

Also, what you're saying is that you're not going to give these a try and hate me for it? I never claimed credit on the BSP's, and I clearly stated that they were SP>MP converts.

But hey, if you don't want to give them a try, that's your prerogative.

idltp, just click on "No Thanks" and you'll be taken to the slower download. You only need to pay for it if you want high-speed Gigabit downloading (idk, I didn't pay for my account :|). I can give the direct link for it instead, though.

As for the poster above me, I really think you're a bot. Get out of my topic. Plus, I fully said that it was a "Public BETA Release", meaning it is NOT complete. Idiot.

Well, it IS 250MB large, and I think it said it would take about 50-60 min to download. So be patient, lol. It took me FAR longer to upload it (3+ hours) >.<

Also, I wouldn't be surprised that it's AC105 - some banned people never learn to STAY banned.

UBE I have feedback.
Whiteout. I love it. By far the best map in the pack. BUT. The BR is butt ugly
also. THe animations for the BR and SG make me feel like ughh

I was also like WTF when I tried to get back in my 'Shee that way. Blame CMT (Stosh*), lol.

AoTCR = Assault on The Control Room, I took it from the actual level name of b40.

BR is H3MT's...I think. SMG is CMT's.

Also, I wanted to use CMT's Wraith instead of Downflow's (although I did manage to upgrade it a bit), but the damn thing exceptions sapien whenever I try to add it to the palette - and I haven't even placed it yet.

I still have to fix up the respawn scripts in AoTCR and Whiteout, because for one random reason or another, it spawns two for the client (whoever joins the game). I'm implementing an add-on to the script that L28 helped me out with (big props to the guy) that will get rid of the issue.

If there is anything more, let me know.

*Bonus points for anyone recognizing this saying :P

To be honest I never really cared for that BR. It just seems ugly to me. However you do what you want that's just my input. The SMG looks okay to me.

Also make sure to fix up some of the HUDs, you'd be surprised how the little things make a big difference in the end!

Could anyone point me to a more suitable BR, SMG and HUD? I'm nearly swamped from several different projects - along with fixing the scripts for the Map Pack.

The SMG is okay for now, there are hardly any others out there really.

The CMT HUD is fine though, it's just that when you pick up a bubble shield then HUDs switch to the H3 HUD. That's what needs to be fixed.

Thanks Pepzee. As for the CMT HUD switching over to the H3 one, I can't really do much about it. If CMT had a HUD for those items (Bubble Shield and PDrainer), I would use that instead.

I'll give it a shot, though.

E: I'm thinking of setting up a server either tomorrow or Friday, between 2-10 pm EST (GMT -5), anyone up for that?

Sure, Friday would be best for me though. 9PM EST would be fine for me though. Some other times I may get interrupted or something.

I'd be more than willing to help you fix up some of the tagging work, with the HUDs and other things if you wish.

All, I'd have to do is decompile those betas you sent me, and start fixing. Let me know if you want me to. Here is what I would fix:


  • Replace the old BR

  • The Messed up HUDs, as best as I could.

  • Potentially replace the old Sniper, to git rid of that bullet bouncing effect.

  • Potentially replace old Bruteshot with a better one.

  • Potentially replace the shot gun, as it shoots as far as the Sniper.

  • Potentially replace then CMT HUD with Jessies H3 HUD, to make things look cleaner.

  • Fix strings.



These things I could fix really easily if you wanted me to. So just let me know if you want me to!

I placed the bullet bouncing effect to attempt to make it more H3-like, but apparently I've failed in that department >.< If you can get the H3 bounce effect going on, that'd be perfect. Otherwise, I'll remove it altogether.

I can fix the SG range - unless you mean replacing the entire shotgun with a different one.

You can go ahead with everything else though Pepzee, I don't mind. With a project like this, I need all the help I can get.

I meant the entire weapon itself, it came from the same weapon pack as the BR did and, to me, it looks ugly.

Pepzee, You can replace the SR as you see fit, along with the BR. I haven't seen many other SR's with the recoil effect on CE, so I used the one you see so far. As for the BR, choose the one that would be approved by the community at large.

Just go with your instincts with this.

As for the SG, if you want to replace it with a more H3 one, then go ahead.

As for the scripts, don't worry. When you send back the redone maps, I'll recompile them with the renewed scripts.

I'm currently in the process of compiling a video (approx. 25 min long) showcasing all of the maps within the Map Pack...

...the downside is that my crappy-as-hell desktop is taking ~5 hours to save it all into a video file >.>

I do, however, have the uncompiled videos (without any sound) to share with anyone who wants a fly-through of any of the five maps.

Also, you can always compress the map with a zip. i have downloaded zip files from mediafire that contains zip files containing zip files.
