If the damn thing can't find Halo, it opens the dialogue box continuously until I log off to force it to quit or run out of memory! Just venting because I lost a bunch of work because of that. It doesn't even work on 64-bit so I'm deleting it. Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes and it was annoying as hell. I just had to spam delete and enter with the task manager open as fast as I could and I eventually managed to get it all closed. Sorry to hear about your lost work, btw.

I hear that. Double-click the .EXE, and the damn thing spams: "Cannot find Halo?!" on multiple little windows until it finally stops 30 seconds down the line.

Ctrl-Alt-Del, switch over to Processes, find AllDev.exe, click on End Process. Agree to shut it down, then it goes goodnight.

I hate it. Add to the fact that most new computers are installed with 64-bit OS', and you got a recipe for disater - you can barely use certain programs with 64-bit.

Maybe E3P0 can make a 64-bit version for some of us who use it? I'd like to have the convienience of AllDev on my laptop without resorting to a program that you have to minimize to turn on/off - especially over the net, where you can cause some text-lag among other issues if you minimize >.<

So you just want a dev mode application to turn it on and off that works Windows 7 64 bit?

Is this 1.09 version of Halo?

Pretty sure I released an app that did it, but if you guys reply saying yes, I'll whip up a quick app to make all dev :)

Yes! If you could make a new All Dev for Windows 7 64 Bit then I would love you forever. <3

Then.. What is our problem.. Because actually.. I get it to go past that. You just have to run Halo CE first, then launch the app. But after doing that when I try to turn on All Dev, it turns green and says it is on for a fraction of a second and then immidiatly goes back to being red and says it is off. Happens every time I do it. Alberto, do you think you can make a quick video of you launching the program and starting up halo and using it and everything having it work? That way I can see if I am doing anything wrong..

Put this: http://www.mediafire.com/?j9wcgg27gryebjc
in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition
Folder

That's a release open sauce dll I compiled. It works/only/ with 1.09. this way you just have to specify console to be true via the halo shortcut...

Right now it only has a few features, and I only posted this because it solves the devmode problem.

Hmm... I put the .dll where you said. But it still isn't working. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Should I still have -console in the target of the shortcut? (You should make a quick walk through)

yes console should be in the shortcut. And no i really shouldn't have to... it's too simple to warrant a video.

I didn't mean video, I just meant step by step in text. But yeah, I see where you're coming from. Also, my Halo CE crashed quite a few times when I launched it. Removed the file just to see if it was it and it stopped. Did this multiple times.

Actually I may know your problem. Did you have xfire running? You can't run xfire-ingame and Open Sauce at the same time... I just disable xfire for halo so I forget.

I don't have (or use) OS, but I still have the same issue of AllDev hard-failing on me.

See my previous post for reference.

Yes, it works great - but there's only one issue...

You need to minimize to click the ON button.

And we all know the issues with minimizing while ingame over the 'net...

This was also the AllDev I was referring to in my original post here. I want an AllDev that utilizes the Pg. Up and Pg. Down buttons - and works on a 64-bit system. E3P0's AllDev unfortunately doesn't work on 64-bit systems, hence the OP's reason for this topic.

Why don't all of you use the dev mode patcher? You don't have to toggle anything at all, it's always on and does not interfere with online play at all... Patrickssj6/Crashoverride made it. Search for it.

This is exactly why I have a 36-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. Most things work with it.

Well then you have a cap on how much memory you can add to your computer. Because with only a 32 bit OS it can only use about 3.5 GB of RAM.

Seems like I'm late for the party....

Halo Ltd - v1.0

Readme.txt
"Oh damn Jimmy, I seem to have forgotten to enable developer mode AND the console before running Halo what shall I do!?!"

--------------------------------------------------------------
Does this happen to you all the time?

Do you wish for a simple way to enable and disable the functions without having to minimize or alt-tab to the desktop?

Do you crave a light weight application that doesn't use any of those annoying DLL files that require the program to be installed in the root directy?

Well you've made the right choice downloading this file!

You can save the application ANYWHERE on your computer and it mount onto Halo (in a friend loving way) and do the deeds, quick and with little splashback!

This is designed for Halo Custom Edition 1.09 ONLY, this should work on both 32 and 64
bit computers.

You can either press the button (which will Enable, and then on another press Disable) the function, or you can press the following keys.

Page Up - Dev Mode enable and disable.
Page Down - Console enable and disable.

Thanks again!

Love Limited

Good luck finding the Easter Egg :)
