Been working on the needle rifle. I know it's terribly boxy, but since school break's started, I can get down and finally de-boxify it, and lower polys, and scale it. BTW the top bit was rushed so it's not much other than a placeholder... so far. So... yeah, here are pics:
I really suck at rendering, since I just started a graphics this year... but the last pic is what I'm trying to aim for in FP.







Do you think there's anything I might've missed?

Looks good for one of your first few models! Except all you did was basically use a box and extrude and move vertecies up and down, show a wireframe and you can see how many polygons there already is. Some proportions are off, especially the top part, but you said that's a placeholder.

The word your looking for is "modeled".

I disagree. I'm making it. And i know exactly how to do it. Because of my lack of scripting abilities i can not do it the way it should be, Make a script that checks to see if the biped your attacking can see you. And if not than it plays a certain set of animations(dieing and melee) and since your attacking from behind it's already an instant kill


The way i'm doing it. I'm Replacing the melee animation and killed from behind animation so it looks like you were assassinated every time your killed from behind. Only problem is it will still look like your stabbing the person even from the front :/. Oh well it's good enough for me :)

Odstmt and frmt are quite close too and we've had a number of ideas about projects with combined efforts from both teams. I joined hcermt but it seems i'm a bit out of the loop at the moment having totally forgotten about it. Perhaps we could make it 3 teams if hcermt is willing to do so...

Not to jack this thread or anything, but odstmt is thinking of doing three campaigns. One in New Mombassa, one on Delta Halo and one in New Alexandria. Perhaps frmt and hcermt could help with the third when we get round to it

It is possible to trigger a cutscene of an assassination which triggers the enemy player's death. It wouldn't be that good and would only work properly in SP though. It could be done in MP, but it would cause serious problems.

Or just leave it as purely SP, seeing as there is no walkaround for serious lag.

And that is were i call you on it. I have already made it. All i need is the animations and it's done. I'm working on it but it'll take awhile. I don't care if the "Best Halo Modders" can't do it. they don't think like i do. So once i get the animations done i'll prove you wrong


EDIT: Ok so i'm almost done with the dieing animation and after that all i have to do is the 3rd and FP melee. Than i rub it in your face >:)

Just show us first instead of finishing animations and getting peoples hopes up so we know if we can believe you or not. Like a sneak peak, a teaser, eye candy for your mouth, etc.

EDIT: Of course assassinations are possible, but the reason no people have done them is because no one cared to try since everyone knows that its not efficient enough to work in the Halo 1 engine. Yes, efficiency is a very important factor when creating anything.

He's trying to implement Reach assassinations into CE. Like when you stab them in the neck and make a big deal out of it (animation-wise).

No i'm not trying to put reach assassination in CE. I have already done it. But right now i'm busy with animating and it will only take 1 or 2 more days. Than i prove it. But right now i'm to busy and lazy to make a video just to show of what i have made when it's not even complete

About the Reach Warthog (v2) I was wondering if it was made destructible like the ones in H3 Containment? Just a thought.

I sure hope so. I know that the Reach ghost (Halo 3 mod) has damage effects, I'm not sure if it has boost or not. There should be a rule for custom vehicles: All must have either a horn or a boost. And have damage effects.

It didn't have a boost. I added one though so any map i release that has it will have boost
