One thing that really would be nice to have in Halo CE would be new player physics. For example, we all know the crappy player death poses from Halo 1. How about somebody makes ones more similar to Halo 2. CMT tried improving the death poses for their brutes in their brutes v2, but it would be really nice to have some awesome death poses.

Halo 2 implements ragdolls to dead bodies, which HCE does not have.

Uh... Halo 2 doesn't really have "poses". It uses ragdoll physics, which Halo 1 does not (well, only a little bit).
I don't think it really makes much of a difference anyways, the game is the game.

EDIT: Advancebo beat me to it, :P

No, he's right in that there are death poses still BEFORE ragdoll activates fully. Go check out H2CE_Zanzibar/maps by those guys, there's a new death animation for when you headshot somebody. It's a flip now like in Halo 2, but of course when he hits the ground it turns into Halo 1 "ragdoll" lol

Yeah, that's nice, like in Halo 2, my favorite part about the game was the physics. I just love charging at a pack of grunts in halo 2 with a br, and nailing all of them in the head and watching them all flip like nuts. Or shooting elites or brutes and the way their bodies fall when you kill them. It really affects the experience.

For some reason certain bodies will simply not turn ragdoll, they're act like Halo 1 bodies no mater how you blast them around.

And meleeing and crouching over them does nothing, sadly.

The engie was too unfinished.

Oh yeah, you couldn't move any bodies by smacking them in Halo 2, except for smacking grunts with fuel rods.

You could move any body of any foe if you had the sputnik skull active.

Yes the sputnik skull set's explosive and melee damage to a new scale,in halo ce that would be controlled by the instant accleration scale.

Also in H2SPT I gave the player and some ai's new death animations, ragdoll animations.

But the problem with that is you can only do one animation, because halo looks for one animation per event, instead in H2 and up you can have mutiple animations so there not always the same based on the event that happens.

WRONG! It offsets the mass of all objects. Cowbell upscales all of the explosions damage.

How do YOU know?
I always thought it made melee more powerful, rather than changing objects' mass though....

You can have animation permutations. Look at the elite sword melee animations.

So if I wanted a spartan to flip when he dies, I would have to get an animations for that right?

Yes I believe so, but there's different animations for either getting a headshot or just killing them regularly.

Yep, which is why normally getting a headshot in Halo 1 results in the victim spinning around and falling.

I hate that animation.

Hope someone makes new animations!

Correction: You can move dead grunts and jackals with a fuel rod, rocket launcher, or energy sword, maybe also brute shot. You can move any body by using a melee with Sputnik active. The problem is they didn't put the right weight into ragdolls, so any melee that mvoes them won't just prod them, it'll send them skidding along the floor and completely reposition them as if by an explosion.

I believe Cowbell is the same thing as Sputnik.

You guys can also change, when you use the sniper, to say you sniped x instead of you killed x and also sniper spree instead of killing spree w/ the reach sound :)

I don't think that's possible. We're still formulating a who-killed-who script, and I don't think it's going to get finished. Plus, scripts can't detect player names, only their numbers (and even then only time to time).
It might be possible through a dedicated server's code or something, but I don't know how those things work.

Player numbers change constantly throughout the game. Especially when players join\leave the game.

=O Reach is epic! well, in my opinion anyway.

ontopic: so its not possible to give a biped semi-working ragdoll physics?

BeachParty did it, not sure if anyone remembers him. He did something close to ragdolls. Then again, he probably just unchecked\checked a flag or something to the like. He had a video somewhere but this was about a year ago.

odst sucks. One of the others is best.

is it possible to make a scriot that makes a biped disappear and drop a set of loosely attached (or clipping) small vehicles shaped like each of the player's bodyparts on the ground?

I already know that.

Pretty sure cowbell is not in halo 2.

reach has the best death anis...

It's pretty abnormal for someone to hold their head in pain after getting headshotted. Oh wait, you simply weren't talking about anims, were you?
