:P that title was to get your guyses attention anyways

I have been thinking would generator defense be possible in ce (multiplayer or sp idc) using scripts like the one where u rescue captain keys in a50? so lets say if all three die u start over

its possible as long the syncing is set up correctly; but if you were to do a firefight, you shouldn't need to worry about that since it would need to be sp anyway

its possible,it can be done by several objects and scripts. Firstly you'd need the generator,which has to have health,and the destroyed generator (another seperate object). The script should check for the health of the generator and,once that reaches zero as you know an explosion is created. The generator is deleted while a new,destroyed scenery is spawned where the actual original generator is while the explosion effect is going on. You'd need to do that for all three generators. Then you'd need to create a player check script to check for each and every player on the map. When one player destroys the generator,the server will say "<player name> has destroyed the generator!". Once all three generators are destroyed,the script will end the game using the command : sv_end_game.

you should be able actually,either done by a nav point script,or a flag setup (race)

Sure, you can detect which players are on the map, but detecting which specific player destroyed the generator? You aren't accounting for players here, rather the PROJECTILE which destroys the generator. There is no way I know of to detect which player fired which projectile. Unless of course, GRUNTS came up with some ingenious method just to foil me, and I take his word for it as usual because I'm too lazy to read his long scripts.

you don't need "generator was destroyed by player".
You just need "sv_say Generator Destroyed"

Yoko's plan involved displaying who destroyed the generator. I claimed that this wasn't possible. You said you could by using a biped.

Screw the team. I did it, so I deserve the credit in a video game level for an old video game where credit matters not, and I earn the respect and admiration of many preteen children who have nothing better to do than argue who destroyed the generator, and who was the first to jump and hit that monitor in Backwash.

From what I've seen and heard cutscenes fail in multiplayer. I think you could just teleport the devcam to the location once the generator has reached the lowest structural integrity, so if someone was about to kill them it wouldn't matter, they'd be one bullet away from destroying it anyhow.

what if someone started making skirmisher(halo reach) bipeds(i suck at making custom bipeds) and add them to firefight. nobody has tried that yet or have they?

Well, i think just a single player one would be fun at first, but when that is finished, you could always trying making a multiplayer one. Just a suggestion

Easy to do in singleplayer...
For multiplayer though... it can be integrated into CTF. Every time a generator gets destroyed by the attacking team it would capture a flag for them. Three captures winning the game.
For the defending team, the game would automatically capture three flags in the last seconds of the game...making them the winners...

There is no such thing as a "bomb" in Halo CE.

anyone can model a cylinder.
