Hello all, I have remade Powerhouse for Halo CE! This is only my second map for Halo, and it's my first that i've released, so please be gentle. It's the first time i've done anything other than model and texture the map. I made a DMR (which isn't the greatest, sorry), a Reach-inspired HUD, and some scenery for the map. I seemed to have messed up the mask on the zoom of the DMR and I couldn't really figure out how to fix it without completely re-tagging the weapon. I really just wanted to get this out there, because if I didn't I'm not sure it would have ever gotten out. Anyways, I know the DMR kind of sucks, but I think the overall map is pretty good. I have set up spawns for CTF, Oddball, and King of The Hill. I hope they all work well. EDIT: Just so nobody is unclear...the only custom weapon is the DMR. If anybody has tags for any other Reach weapons and wanted them in I think that would be cool. presto. The map needs lots more detail, but its an awesome start nevertheless. The DMR of course needs better animations (MEMEME) and parts of it are out of proportion, but it is also a great start.

Thanks AGLion for posting some pics, I really appreciate it.
But yes, the DMR need some serious work, it's just that I start college on Monday and I won't have much time to work on this anymore so I felt like I should just get it out and see what people think. I would love to fix everything but I'm not sure I'll have the time to.
The BSP is already pretty high poly, but yes, there definitely could be more detail. Scenery in the main building would make the space look much fuller. Thanks for the criticism and compliments.

This reminds me of the fist halo 2 remakes that came out for CE. Good job, remember graphics aren't everything, especially in an 8 year old game.

Redo those shaders and you'd have a nice Powerhouse BSP. Modeling is pretty accurate from what I can tell. DMR is pretty hard to use for some reason, I think it needs more autoaim.
With a better weapon tagset, this would be great. Great contribution, much better than what a lot of people have been doing lately.

You've got it all wrong. Powerhouse V2 is going to be made by Dennis. I haven't seen any maps made by him.. dennis attempted to model once, but I think he said he didn't get the hang of it. I dunno, but he might have had something to do with blood island. Or it might have just need his first map he couldn't find so he made this site. As you all know, Dennis is a lawyer in the state of NY and in his off time, he plays sexy with the ladies. ;)

You should replace the pistol with the M6G, due to the magnum in Reach being a variant of it. Maybe make some other weapons, as well. A Plasma Repeater would be nice. :D

From the pictures the model looks decent, but the textures could use work. If you can get it textured well, then it'd be great. I'd stick with a stock tagset though for now.

This is a very nice start, im no modeler but i played the reach beta enough to know this is about 99% correct. You just need to add the detail and weapons/hud and all that good stuff to make it exact. Other than that gameplay is still pretty solid on it and fun.

Wow everybody, thanks for the awesome words!
But yeah i'm taking the suggestions to heart and i'm going to try to get some stuff done to it. I have more scenery for the insides planned just have to model it, and i'm making bump maps for some of the textures and adding a little reflectivity to a few. If anybody has any tips on making the shaders better i'd love to hear it!

But I personally, and many others would prefer a custom tagset. Its not fun seeing the same weapons and animations in several different maps. But it's all up to who's modding it I suppose.
