Pesonally, I think that if anyone decides to make renditions of this, they should work in accord with dbl helix. He created an awesome BSP and all he really needs help on is getting some more scenery and tags in general, and maybe a small fix or two in the model. I will say the only thing i didn't like was how the abyss goes so far down :P
Most everything is great as it is and it will just ruin it if everyone decides that they need their so called "custom" tagset to be in this map. it would just be like. "oh look! MOOOORE overused CMT tags! Oh goodie!!!"

that just lowers the player population for the map. as they'll be split up between the 2, over which they like better.

Agreed just make a reach one. its a Reach map it needs Reach Weapons.

Darn, I really thought I got all of the phantom bsps. I'll fix that for next version. But yes, I do think it would be awesome to get some Reach weapons in this map, and I'm working on some scenery and stuff for it. If anyone wants to collaborate with me and get some weapons in here, I'd be all for it, my only condition is I don't want any ripped materials...

I think with this map he's shooting for an authenticity similar to when people first started making H2 and H3 maps. Everything was from scratch, stuff didn't even have new anims, everything looked slightly off from their real counterparts, etc.

Yeah, but I also think that if you're making a custom map, you should make custom content. I don't know, I also think it's much more impressive to make a map completely custom than just to rip all the content from the actual game.

Well, I'm glad that people see where I'm coming from about ripping content.

Anyways...I fixed the mask for the DMR scope...apparently a white pixel in each corner will make the corners of the screen black...

i don't know if you'll do this but you could take the AR from this map along with the other reach weapons and put them in. but you'll have to give the guy some credit.

White = opaque, will not see through.
Black = transparent, will see through.

I have more scenery for the insides planned just have to model it, and i'm making bump maps for some of the textures and adding a little reflectivity to a few. that map i linked has a better looking DMR, an untextured reach sniper, and a reach AR. and some other weapons that i think are in reach.

Because people like Helix aren't afraid of criticism, and don't expect their map to be perfect. We need more of the people like Helix, because then we would have more room for working together and collaborating to make the map perfect.

This isn't NEAR perfect at all, but hey, It's powerhouse, I like it, fun to play, and it was made with actual effort. Cannot complain, the kids got guts to make a already made map in a hostile territory, I'm surprised no one has complained about detail in Reach not being in this model. Very nice job, keep it up. Perhaps I can give u a better DMR? lmao

Yes, I agree, it's not perfect. I don't want it to be "perfect." I want it to remind you of the original and play quite similar to it as well. Yes, it's unfinished, however; I do plan to remain working on it. If I can't get around to finishing it, even with people's help I will probably release all of my .max files for it so everyone else can mess with it (but don't count on that happening anytime soon, if at all...)
