Anyways, looking at these screenshots of awesome particle effects, awesomely textured and modeled ar's, custom sentinels and marines. Cool environemnts, epic skies and lighting. Great job guys. Great job guys, this is incredible.

i bumped this thread because ive been coming here regularly since it started and im keen to see this map, as are lots of others, i think unevenelefant5 underestimates the amount of enthusiasm for this project.

Yeah, the few of us working on this are well aware of the amount of enthusiasm that people have for it, and we had great enthusiasm ourselves for this project. All the morale seems to dissipate, however, once you take a look at Gamma's several page long list of things to fix.

Uneven Map pack comes to mind specifically here.

Hey guys, Gamma made some awesome sniper rifle animations, but for some reason, only the hands show up in game. Gamma's stumped and so am I as to what could be wrong, so if someone could rig the halo 1 sniper rifle FP model to the halo 3 sniper rifle FP nodes, that would be great. Also, if you do this, you'd be helping out with 3 projects, since this same sniper is going into UMP and Freeze as well.

Please help :D

No; the model for the Halo 1 sniper model doesn't fit the Halo 3 model which I animated with. Efforts to modify the animations to fit the model didn't turn out well either. I'm just going to do a fresh set of animations for the Halo 1 model, but it'll take a while.

Meh. Too radical of a thought. If the suggestion is directed towards the apparent halting of map progress, I can assure you that the sniper is not the only thing that prevents map progress. It'll be done before the massive list of bugs is resolved. If the suggestion is an expression of a preference for classic tags, then I am deeply regretful to inform you that quite a few of these tags will be custom. We do this not for a reputation or for positive feedback from the community, but for fun. Although criticism is welcome, not every aspect of the map can be directed by the community's will.

True, it is just an animation, and I understand your concern for the large amount of time spent on the map. The sniper, however, is not one of the issues preventing the map's release. If you want to see the list of issues that must be resolved before the map's release, I'm sure Polamee or Elefant can post it. If the list of issues is resolved before I animate the sniper, then the map will release with default animations. The animations will then be used for future projects.

I am going to mix and match parts from the armored and unarmored marines, the lifepod pilot, and crewmen together to create different armor permutations, so some have a little armor, some have a lot, some have none, etc. Civilian innies would be pretty cool though. If I could find someone to retexture the crewman/marine texture to look like normal clothes, then that'd be cool.

Either way, it worked, and I've got 4 perms ingame already. The rigs aren't great, but I'll smooth them out once I've got all the perms working correctly.
