ok so this is my first time trying to make a halo map and iv completed all the steps up to building the cache file ...............i tryed to do it but when i put
"tool build-cache-file levels\bliss\bliss"
it says fail to load scenario
what am i doing wrong ??????
please help
ps. i made sure my scenario "bliss" is in the bliss folder but for some reason it cant be loaded to build a cache file Edited by sdaoud28 on Apr 1, 2010 at 05:16 PM

Did you use a Halo map version converter to extract your tags from Halo PC maps?
EDIT: What I meant was, did you convert Halo PC maps into Halo CE maps, and then extract your tags from those? That probably has something to do with it. Edited by Architect of Halo on Apr 1, 2010 at 05:35 PM

try "tool.exe build-cache-file levels\test\bliss\bliss"
without qoutes

You don't need the .exe. The problem you have is the quotes. The quotes are making the command prompt assume that the entire chunk is one argument. You want three separate arguments, which means that you don't want to surround them with quotations. You can surround each individual argument with quotations, but not the entire block.

i tryed what you all said but i still get the same thing...............dose it matter if i used chimp to extract my file from 3ds max? ..................cuz i heard that chimp was only for gmax ..........................also i just decided to try and make a new one but now it wount even let me structure it when i put "tool structure levels\super super" i get this message
couldnt read map file './toolbeta.map' building intermediate geomtry... EAX:0xFFFFFFFE EBX:0X001EEC01
THEIR IS MORE BUT AFTER ALL OF IT.........IT SAYS
EXCEPTION halt in .\intermediate_geometry.c, #444: triangle-> material_index>=0&&
and thats it ...........dose anyone know what this means?

Did you convert to editable mesh before exporting? Are your materials out of order? Is everything textured?

yes everything is right ................well there is one thing im not sure if it affects anything tho ..........if i have walls overlapping can that be the problem?

Does the debug say something about overlapping (orange) faces or surfaces?

im not sure how would i go about checking that?..................but ow when i put in the structure command i get the error message
### ERROR edge #13 is open (red).
there is like 50 of these and then it says
### ERROR failed to build collision geometry ### ERROR failed to import collision bsp.

1st, try selecting all verts in the map and weld at a value of 0.01. post new errors if any.
