great job and happy new year buddy!
Hello everyone (and happy holidays)!
This isn't too big an issue, but still...
One day I attempted to have an AI bot pilot a Scarab vehicle. Though he was able to enter the vehicle and control its weapon, he didn't move it...at all.
I set up a few move points, and configured the vehicle so that AI could pilot it (like any other vehicles, such as Ghosts, Warthogs, etc), but all he did was fire the weapon when I put my character in front of the vehicle.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, and again, sorry about that one post, though I can't really offer an explaination for why I reacted like that, it was unneccesary, and I won't do that again.
Sorry about that, previous post, I was in error. :(
There seems to be only a few .wav files that won't compile in tool.exe, the rest will compile.
Is it just some of the sound data (like electric guitars and some other instruments) that tool can't read or something? Edited by Architect of Halo on Nov 29, 2010 at 09:56 PM

Nice.

I attempted to test it in my compiled maps and in sapien (I made a sound_looping tag and placed the compiled sound tag inside of it), and when I used the "sound_looping_start sound\new_sound\new none 1", nothing happened....
S@&*
I still hear no sound, even though I got the new ogg vorbis files, and even though I changed the hertz around several times.

No, I run tool as admin every time, and I run no other HEK programs while doing it.
I successfully saved the file as a 16-bit mono, and created a sound_looping tag using the sound tag, and it didn't play in sapien of Halo CE.
:(
Hey guys, after a long dissappearance, I return once again, but for an unfortunate reason:

I was trying to convert a music file using tool (I saved it as a WAV 44k PCM 16-bit stereo file, and did the OGG vorbis 128000 bit rate thing, and this happened, no matter where I put the file and what I did to it).
I've tried too many things to correct this problem, but I'm sure someone knows how to figure this out.

For some reason, my door still won't open.
What did you put in your map?
The tag your using might be corrupted, and if you want to extract more tags than just the single player and multiplayer maps that come with Halo 1, just use this: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=2289
The script:
Quote: --- Original message by: My script (script startup iii (sleep_until (= (device_get_position pc_1) 0)) (device_set_position 1 1) (game_save_no_timeout) )
Sapien had no problem compiling this script, but for some reason, it won't open the door. (pc_1 is the name of the control, and 1 is the name simple name of the door).
Thank you, I wouldn't have figured it out without help.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew what commands I would need if I wanted to script an explosion created from detonating a reactor or destroying an object in a map. I also want to know how to get a control panel to open a door or spawn an object, or something like that.
And not to offend anyone, but hs_doc and the scripting bible don't do **** for me, because neither of them show any explanation for what script commands do, and how to use them correctly in a script file. Sorry if I angered anyone for writing that explanation.
Thank you for your help.
I eliminated the scripts, and...Now even sapien won't open it. :(
Well, uh, thanks for your help anyways.
Well...actually, no...
I did a search inside my tagset (today's date), and there was no physics tag anywhere that was modified today.
Sapien ran earlier, but the map wouldn't compile for some reason.
Not to sound like a quitter, but is this map dead (meaning, is it now pointless to continue this)?
I did that twenty times using wordpad to notepad, I ran both as administrator.
And now I have this:
