As most of you probably know, a lot of esteemed members are leaving the CE community, resulting in a loss of knowledge. About a year or two ago, if you needed help in something, you could ask and recieve help. I myself have given as much help as I could. However, with many people leaving, eventually, there will be no one left to teach anyone. I myself am not going to stay here forever. Eventually, I too will leave. Before I leave, I'd like to find someone to teach, someone to train, so that everything I've learned could be passed on, and the CE community will live at least a bit longer.

What you get (if I select you):
-I will teach you everything I know, and be (slightly) patient with your questions
-I might give you some of my test maps to show you how the stuff I've done works

Prerequisites:
-Be able to speak legible english (I have to understand you >90% of the time)
-Basic understanding of how to tag stuff, basic scripting knowledge, and how to compile a map
-No desire to quit CE and leave in any visible time in the future
-At least one thing you're good at (modeling, animating, texturing, scripting (POPULATING AND TAGGING AREN'T SKILLS)). I can't really teach you anything new for modeling or texturing, but I could teach you how advanced scripting, advanced tagging (heh), and basic animating (I'm not the best to teach though)

Post if you think that you match the prerequisites. I'll talk with you, and run a "diagnostic" to see whether or not you match the prerequisites.

And yes, I'm actually serious about this thread. Try not to ruin it, like, you know, the other threads?

there ARE still some people who know whats going on. im always on xfire and im on here almost every day. i know i dont post much work but i know how pretty much everything works. what im saying here is i can help with stuff if other people cant.

Yea, but an increasingly large number of people are leaving the forums, which is a main source of information for many people. When I check the technical forums, it's usually just me that's posting to help.

i meet all the prerequisits and this would be really cool, im not going to be available until friday night, but im willing to stay here, and alot of people i know in real life want to learn how to do this too, since i bring my maps to school and show them.

Hmm, I meet most of the requirements, but I'm not really sure how good I am at scripting.
I might be a good scripter, I just have nothing to compare to.
Also I'm on the forums alot, and try to help people in what way I can. I'm working on modelling.

I just sent a message via xfire to you. The only problem would be time constraints. Since we live on completely different sides of the planet, though when ever I go on xfire you seem to be online anyway.

I already know quite some bit on scripting and I would like to learn how to animate as well. Plus everything else you have to offer and at least I will understand what you saying half the time, since Im not a N00B anymore at HCE. But I would like to learn more about HCE and your perfect for someone to teach me.

<offtopic>Im baffled guys. Im not sure if I should have a career in game development, or in web design. Ive got all A+ in web design, but I like game developments aswell. Infact I like web design just as much. Dennis if you read this, could you give me any insights on website development? You know alot anyways.</offtopic>

Gamma, while I do get a lot of help from you, a lot of the help is you pasting scripts in and me putting it into my scripts without me really understanding it. In the event that you do leave, I'd like to really understand HSC, not just be able to copy/paste other people's work and change values.

maybe you teach someone your modeling, someone your scripting etc.

Why not just make tutorials?

The tutorials section is pretty slim on variety and half the tuts don't actually explain what is going on so if I want to create something call Testt I'm fine but if I want to create something with a more interesting name. I'm pretty much at square one...

it's true that tutorials are helpful when properly made...in some way, it's also true that we have got very little new talents. People don't seem interested in mapping anymore apart from the modding. Is the bar set to high? I don't know.
