That was a fun 2v2 match.

I do agree, some weapons need balancing. The AR is definitely a rape gun, the SMG feels like it has too much melee range, and the pistol seems underpowered. Also the shotgun seems to lack a bit of spread, though when you get closer the spread seems fine. The sniper's recoil isn't much of a recoil, instead more of a rumble. If there still will be a recoil, it might be best to change it to seem like a recoil (scope goes up instead of shakes around).

Well I put together a bug list with also a list of weapon tweaks. Next weekend will hopefully be another release of Ruins and we'll introduce Augur. With Augur comes the Spartan Laser, Bruteshot, and Spiker. The Ghost is also a playable vehicle. The server will run on a rotation with several gametypes for each map. Here are those lists that need to be fixed before this release though.






And ODX will also have fixed some animation problems here and there.

For the shotgun I think you should get rid of the old lag-bullet effect that it had, where you shoot and your shots don't actually appear until a second or so afterward.

um the shotty in my view point is underpowered... i was chasing odx and he was five feet away from me it took me the hole clip in and 2 bullets to kill him......

prolly cause shotty lag. i have no idea how to lead the shotty cause of that weird lag thing odx was talking about. it does seem to have a delay

I'm pretty sure you lead it exactly how you lead if it wasn't delayed- what it shows is where the shots actually hit, depending to the ping you have.

If anything the shotty might be alil powerful. You just have to learn to lead better. The team already fixed almost every problem on the lists I posted. Now I have to go in and fix the scenario files and work more on the bsp files. Expect new builds in the next few days.

No. It only works on CMT server. You have to join it ip play!

Having worked in game testing, I have to say, most of those are design change requests rather than actual bugs. Balance and requests are for the developers to decide what to do with based on the feedback they receive.

IMO the pistol was meant to be a weapon which you would dump at first chance (in other games it's the weapon you go to when your main one is empty or you're just confident you can handle it. Except that can't exist in Halo because we can have 2 "primary" level weapons. So why have a Primary (BR/AR) and secondary (non-H1 pistol) weapon when you can have 2 of the former? There should be a rule that you can only hold 1 2-handed weapon (ones you cant Dual Wield) and 1 dualwieldable weapon, or 2 dual-wieldable weapons.
Eg. You can hold a shotgun with a PR/SMG eg, but not with an AR/Energy Sword/Sniper.
Or you can hold a PR and SMG, and also dualwield an extra one.

First, let me say, the AR being iconic is NO REASON for it to completely overpower the rest of the weapons. There still needs to be some balance, each weapon needs to be good for what it does, and having one that completely destroys in comparison to the others (IE the Halo 1 Pistol) is a bad idea. Same with weak weapons, the Pistol and Plasma weapons need to be good at something or else nobody will use them and they're just a waste of weapon development. A game where a single weapon overpowers everything else becomes very bland and boring very quickly. The more useful weapons there are, the more variety the game is going to have, as well as replay value.

I do have to say though, I dislike Halo 2 and 3's way of "WEAPONS ARE ONLY GOOD IN VERY SPECIFIC RANGES AND SITUATIONS," which caused the games to, in my opinion, be very "rock paper scissors." Don't have the EXACT right weapon for the situation you're in, you're screwed. Reach is taking a step in the direction of having weapons having wider effective ranges and more useful in various situations, as you can tell from the blooming crosshairs and the information in the latest update: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=25376

Player clip is not needed for sky; lower the skybox.

There is player clip around the whole entier map except that small area. I didnt get to fixing this problem wthere before I released. It wasn't a problem and still isnt a problem that hinders our testing. I have already fixed it though. And someone suggested just bringing the skybox down but thats a bad idea. It will cause plasma shots or other projectiles to dissapear too quickly if shot in the sky. Anyway so much has been fixed already and it's getting even more fun. I want to thank everyone who has played the map.

In response to the person having issues connecting to the server. I don't know what to tell you. If you think your map is corrupted then redownload. Or maybe you just can't connect. Sorry that you are unable to play but this isn't a final release and right now it's better than no release at all.
