Please correct the author of the map and please remove it from featured list (idk if it is or not). It's infuriating enough just to have the map leaked, but its even worse to have some incompetent dickwad taking credit for it.

I won't ask you to take it down because I know you won't. I just want credit.

I have the original tag set and scripts along with about 7 different versions of the model to prove its mine. Including a version for Unreal 3.

then when it explodes i hope he takes it in to get it fixed but the store employees are on strike so he goes all the way home and when hes walking in through the garage, the garage door breaks and falls on him breaking his noez so he goes to the hospital and the hospital workers are on strike too.

Dennis will change it if you ask him politely (and preferable, in a PM) and simply prove it's yours as well as explain the situation as to how it was leaked on to Halomaps.

Remember that he can not remove it though, as you are responsible for the people you give it to and the places you post the link.

As much as I hate people who do crap like this, you really need to find a better place to upload your files. It's so easy to get into your server it's not even funny. After this happened the first time with snowtrap and the yoyo betas, you kinda should have seen this coming.

I can give you a ftp server inferno, I have unlimited ftp accounts (as well as space, bandwidth, email, etc)

I have removed the author's name from the database per your request. I can not stress how important it is to only give test or unfinished maps to people you can absolutely trust. Once it leaves your hard drive you no longer have ANY control or say over what someone does with it.

You and ONLY you are responsible for leaks.

Has anyone ever used a court order to remove the map?

To be fair Dennis, he did not give the leakers this map on purpose. They went into his private FTP and stole it from there, then uploaded it here.

It couldn't have been "private" if people could download it from his FTP. If you don't password protect then you are giving it away. You are responsible for your actions as well as your inactions. Not assigning a password is the fault of the owner not the person who downloaded it.

Would you really go to court , hire a lawyer to write a legal statement , and then get the court to remove a product you have made which is not used for profit , in any way , for any organization? Sounds a tad extravagant.

it sucks man. sigma had 2 maps leaked. all i can do is tell you i wont download it until you release the final version.

i think i ran across the leak. was that the Eggplant map? i forgot who had it someone gave me the link but after finding out it was a leak i trashed it.

Inferno it's your fualt or snaf's becuase your the people making and giving out beta's. Why give a beta to someone if they could do something like this? Don't go blaming the entire halomaps community for one of your mistakes.

It means your an idiot if you hand beta's out to leakers. Not just because you're a leaker, but because it shows poor judgment and a lack of brains to not learn from other peoples mistakes, or look into people before you give them something like a beta. This is what? Infernos 4th or 5th leak?

Uh, Xel, shut up. He won't remove it because that's not part of his policy. If he removed this one map (which sense it's not even finished really and needs a ton of polishing....) than he would have to remove all of the other maps people have asked for removal because of some leak.

It's Inferno's fault for leaving his server open for anyone to take his maps and more or less needs to understand how people love being asses on the internet. I'm not hating on Inferno, but skills will only gain you respect, not super-legal rights. The only thing he can hope for in his next tests are to use private FTPs and make sure he doesn't announce to the public when he's beta testing, something a lot of mappers do here and at Modacity.

Deleting the file will not remove it from the public domain. I don't delete maps from the archive on principal. First off once it is in the public domain I have no reason to delete it. Second since I started this policy the number of maps that have been “leaked” is monumentally smaller than when Halo CE map making first started.
There are consequences for your actions and inactions. The consequence for not taking responsibility for your actions and your maps is that if you give your map to untrustworthy people it may end up being posted for download on Halo Maps.

Yeah the site is terrible. In general the entire 7 year old community for halo is terrible (lead by masterzEGOTISTICAL1337) and that is why I'm moving to unreal.
