Bungie is not in charge of the Halo movie project. Peter Jackson was working on the Halo movie, but decided to pass it onto Steven Spielberg.

The prawn head model was constructed from the grunt head model.
This isn't confirmed yet but its obvious you can tell, i can grab a grunt picture and a prawn head picture and you will find alot of similarities in shape and the way its built.
