True for most weapons, but on the AR, both the horizontal and the diagonal melee show the right side of the gun (one more than the other) so you'll have to show caution in what detail you remove and who you have (if anyone) animate the gun. If anything, get rid of those little indents since they could probably be done/shown through the skin. However, I don't think that will really make much of an impact on your poly count, which as you said, is below 4k and is how you want it.

That's the opacity bitmap from photoshop and gimp and whatsoever with a light tracer and skylight render :) correct me if im wrong yah? It's called a checkerbox pattern, but you're completely right about the lights, he was only showing off the unwrap anyways, showing off detaills needs better lighting He does that for his other models Edited by BeachParty clan on Aug 24, 2009 at 05:12 AM

The checkered pattern is what you use to see if the unwrap has stretched parts :/ And here is a comparison: Best side image I could find on google. The back of mine is a bit inaccurate and short. Edited by anonymous_2009 on Aug 24, 2009 at 07:17 AM

Here's one that's much higher res you missed a few intrudes and extrudes, since you did the main ones idk if you intended to do that or not, just to mention, the one on the back is the most noticable one though since its differently coloured aswell http://i25.tinypic.com/34gpuz8.jpg Edited by BeachParty clan on Aug 24, 2009 at 07:22 AM
