For those of you that don't know, we are releasing a public beta of SPV2's A10 today this website , and there will be a HUGE amount of new users registering and coming to this forum. Now, none of us really "like" new kids who are clueless about this game, but it is of the utmost importance that we be our best in the coming days. This is one of the few opportunities we have to expand our community and draw in a huge amount of new players. So for this upcoming week, lets drop the memes, drop the (un)funny jokes, and treat our new forums members the best we can.
The A10 beta will be released later today.

He said that it tends to draw people in, and it does. With the nice cutscene in the beginning, it captures your interest for the rest of the level.

Quote: --- Original message by: AlwinRoth Wait... So how do the people know they have to make accounts here? I don't see why people suddenly want to play halo just because a new mod comes up =/ they first of all, wouldn't "suddenly" know about it, and secondly i doubt it that people just play a game because a single mod looks fine. No, you'll get alot of downloads, like 500 people at the same time, but the community for this game isn't THAT big, and I mean the people who are looking further than it's cover and just play halo like it is, they wouldn't know about this and not that it is so "special" all of sudden at it's release. They'll find the mod like any other, in halomap's archive, just to be found after some time because of boredom, like any other mod. Tell me masterz, why do you think that your mod suddenly makes everyone wanna register because of a single mod that everyone will be mirroring for the meanwhile anyways? Except if you have posted flyers all around town in their mailboxes with a copy of halo and a link to the download Don't wanna offend you, but, really, arn't you being a bit "way up there" about your mod? It's just a campaign mod, even though more effort than any other mod so far, it doesn't blow new life in halo... nothing will... Edited by BeachParty clan on Aug 4, 2009 at 03:54 PM

Why do I think this? Because I know things you don't and I have connections to people way higher up than other mod teams ;).

So a similar thread up on modacity. Anyway, Most likely there will be downloads in the 100, 000s for the first day, then things will start to slow down.
And Bp, don't make dennis pull out his statistics on you.

Quote: --- Original message by: jesse Is this because of the a10 beta leak? Probably, corvette said Masterz did it so he can let the whole leak thing behind him. I would be good to hear it from Masterz himself. But if it because of the leak or not makes no difference. New members will be coming and the halo CE population will increase by around probably 15%.

I mean, look at the downloads the "good" new maps are getting.

Hmph I feels like that day in winter when 18 pepole died becuase they wanted to get a Wii and there was only 10. nd the crowd was an estimated 800. and the store was set on fire becuase one of the TVs fell on the carpet and set off a spark and the building set on fire.
Its s shame I didint have a camera so I could post it on Failblog.

I mean, look at the downloads the "good" new maps are getting. I laughed aswell, but I'm also considering that people like me, who fux their windows every week and reinstal halo on a weekly base, also have a huge count for maps we're supposing to download just once well... i guess there are alot of people who don't register, i was one of them before i registred (wut) and for several years, but idk, i merely look at how much people post, consider that people redownload maps and look at the ammount of people on other forums, i merely conclude that there may be like 2k or 3k people still playing it, unless dennis is logging IP adresses.... you may shove the ammount of unique IP's up my bleep if you want to, i dont believe that there are so many unique downloaders, the guest count isnt really high either

I mean, look at the downloads the "good" new maps are getting. My map has fewer downloads than blood gulch mods. Guess they care more about bloodgulch mods than custom map mods. :(
