Uneven's been trying to help me don't know what this means?? It's for biped model I's just the model though not rigged yet..

#444 means a poly right? maybe you skipped one... select the WHOLE model, then apply the materials, that is the ONLY solution i know of, since after applying it's automatically 1 for faces without ID that you might have skipped
never hurts to check, just try it

Does this help my friend took the model from H2 and as u know there in .obj's so my theory is that the models have been assigneds (shaders/mateials) even though u extracted them it still looks for those same 5 or 6 materials Think thas what it is?
Im gonna try that

people, why is it so damn difficult to use a multi-sub material? that is how models for halo are supposed to be set up, so you can match them with material ID's. stop being lazy and make multi sub objects because the people who use those and get this error are always able to fix it. the only people i ever see complaining about this old material count error are the ones who dont use multi-sub objects.

Hey I already fixed my own problem it was what I posted above the models were orginaly pre textured or uvw'ed and nomatter if u gave it new materials it still looks for those same 5 or 6 materials I dont think u could give it any less materials than it orginally had?
This is what I get now but I think this is the last error:
EXCEPTION halt in .\intermediate_geometry.c,#1705: intermediate_triangle->vertex_indices[0]!=intermediate_triangle->vertex_indices[1]

check if there is an isolated vertex, that could be the problem.
