Hello everyone!
Yet again, I need your help! Help me list for each maps, or at least the most popular maps, the amount of players it should be played with in order for it to work. (Real numbers ranging from 1 to 16) Please list them as following Map Name, lowest amount of players, highest amount of players. An example:
Bloodgulch, 8, 12
Basically meaning on map Bloodgulch the amount of players should be ranging from 8 to 12 in order to have an absolute fair game. Anything above or below just doesn't work well with the map design.
It might be a bit of a task the list them all but if we all pitch in I'm sure we'll go a long way. Don't worry you can start with you favorites and update the list as you play!
I recommand starting with the stock maps and the most popular CE maps.
Stock Maps: Battle Creek (beavercreek) Blood Gulch Boarding Action Chillout Chiron TL34 (putput) Damnation Danger Canyon Death Island Derelict (carousel) Gephyrophobia Hang em High Icefields Infinity Longest Prisoner Ratrace Sidewinder Timberland Wizard
@Dennis can you post the full list of maps? As I'm unable due to "Message cannot contain profanity. Please read the rules. Bypassing the filter will get you banned!" (spoiler tags would be great)
Here is my list: Battle Creek (beavercreek), 6, 10 Blood Gulch, 8, 12 Boarding Action, 8, 10 Chillout, 4, 6 Chiron TL34 (putput), 6, 8 Damnation, 6, 8 Danger Canyon, 10, 14 Death Island, 12, 16 Derelict (carousel), 6, 8 Gephyrophobia, 10, 14 Hang em High, 6, 8 Icefields, 10, 12 Infinity, 16, 16 Longest, 4, 6 Prisoner, 4, 6 Ratrace, 4, 8 Sidewinder, 10, 14 Timberland, 10, 16 Wizard, 4, 6 Edited by Sean Aero on Apr 20, 2012 at 01:25 AM Edited by Sean Aero on Apr 20, 2012 at 01:31 AM

Wizard and Longest both work really well for just a 2 person deathmatch I find. Gephyrophobia works well with anything over 8, as does Icefields.

Battle Creek (beavercreek), 2, 16 Blood Gulch, 2, 16 Boarding Action, 2, 16 Chillout, 2, 16 Chiron TL34 (putput), 2, 16 Damnation, 2, 16 Danger Canyon, 2, 16 Death Island, 2, 16 Derelict (carousel), 2, 16 Gephyrophobia, 2, 16 Hang em High, 2, 16 Icefields, 2, 16 Infinity, 2, 16 Longest, 2, 16 Prisoner, 2, 16 Ratrace, 2, 16 Sidewinder, 2, 16 Timberland, 2, 16 Wizard, 2, 16
If everyone plays right, every map is fun with a range from 2 to 16 players.
I've played extinction against just one other person once and it was still really fun. It's quite fun to try to find each other on large maps, especially on maps with tunnels because you can encounter the other player with their back turned and snipe them in the back.

This is how we do it in Halo PC community or leagues based on these stock maps: Battle Creek (beavercreek) 3v3s (Rarely), 4v4s so that's 6, 8 Blood Gulch 3v3s, 4v4s, 5v5s so that's 6, 10 **#3 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Boarding Action -We don't play this map because no one ever likes it in scrims or league/matches- Chillout 1v1s, 2v2s so that's 2, 4 **#6 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Chiron TL34 (putput) -We don't play this map because no one ever likes it in a scrim or league/matches- Damnation 3v3s, 4v4s so that's 6, 8 **TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Danger Canyon 4v4s, 5v5s so that's 8, 10 **#4 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Death Island -Only if we have fun 7v7s and 8v8s gamenight, so that's 14, 16- Derelict (carousel) 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s, 4v4s so that's 2, 8 **#5 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Gephyrophobia 5v5s, 6v6s so that's 10, 12 **#7 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Hang em High 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s, 4v4s so that's 2, 8 (Rare chance of people picking this map) Ice Fields 5v5s, 6v6s so that's 10, 12 **#9 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Infinity -Only if we have fun 7v7s and 8v8s gamenight, so that's 14, 16- Longest -We don't play this map either so I don't know- Prisoner 2v2s (Rarely), 3v3s (Rarely too), 4v4s so that's 4, 8 Ratrace 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s 4v4s so that's 2, 8 **#2 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Sidewinder 2v2s (Top and Long only, meaning no tunnels), 3v3s, 4v4s, 5v5s so that's 2, 10 **#1 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Timberland 5v5s, 6v6s so that's 10, 12 **#8 TOP SCRIM/MATCH MAP** Wizard 1v1s, 2v2s, so that's 2, 4 If you want to know more information about the main Halo league then visit the following: http://www.clanwars.cchttp://s9.zetaboards.com/HPT_Forums/index/It's where the real skilled Halo players play. But don't think they cheat, because most of them are old players ever since Trial or Combat Evolved first came out. They also play those matches by getting on this program called HAC (Halo Anti Cheat) which detects if you are using any sort of hack while you have your Halo opened along with that program as well as they have to record every game and are asked to upload within like a 2-day time limit if the other team requests for the video. Players that don't get on HAC and don't record or get caught cheating in this league will result in a league ban along with both CD hash ban from servers and IP ban from forums.
