A WIP Campaign mod, with most tags either ripped or had a public release. You play as an S3, which is undoubtedly weaker than an S2. Yeah, don't mind the version number(lol). The SPARTAN-III project was held secret by ONI, the Office of Naval Intelligence. HECK NO, THE US MILITARY IS NOT INTERESTED IN TRAINING SUPER SOLDIERS AT THE MOMENT. I'm talking about Halo's ONI. SPARTAN-III's concentrated more on teamwork and stealth than raw power to overcome their enemies.

So, in gameplay terms, active camouflage will be enabled as the result of the SPI Armor photoreactive panels. No, the gun will not float in game. It will be cloaked as well. Active camo, for obvious reasons, will be shortened to 15 seconds - which is all you'll need to take out a roomful of covenant. You press the flashlight key...

The standard weapon for S3's is the MA5K, which CMT has. And I have. And everybody else as well.

As with any other mod, I'll modify vehicles, weapons, and encounters with everything everybody suggests. Well, not everything.

Needed:
-A hud concept
-A scripter - I think Polamee's helping
-Some other stufff
-Some help with the Sapien and Guerilla stuff

Sounds promising. But the entire Halo campaign remake, exactly the same, just as a Spartan III will get a bit boring. Modify encounters, weapons, vehicles and textures if possible. I'll assist you if you need help, mostly in scripting. I don't know everything though - unlike some people =P

Yeah, I just said that it's the major aspect of gameplay. I'll add in Brutes, and replace the AR with the MA5K, both of which CMT released. Now that someone's doing scripting, the other problem is modelling. Ah, I'm going to bed, school tommorrow.

Brutes? D= No. I hate seeing those crappy CMT Brutes used in every single noobish map. If you want to prove that your mod has standards, don't use the V1 Brutes. Instead, try a new H2 armor for the Elites and Grunts, throw in H2 Marines (HDoan's. He also made a prophet, no grav chair...yet), have some balanced weapons and new competent vehicles. Rangers are ok, as long as they are tweaked a little in the .actor and actor variant, I find the ones that we are supplied with sloppy.

Not headshots. They generally sucked. Armor and face were not realistic, dialog was crap etc.

One of the few matters we agree on. Add more variety to Elites instead. And vehicles.

i have also been looking for a S-111 for my own perposes and found a model on thsi site that could be tweaked to look right i think is called Halo 3 beta spartans or somtin like that. if you do get one rigged and game ready could you please tell me.

I have the SPI armor somewhere on my disk, Doan also got one, he rigged one from someone else, i have no idea who originally attempted at making a SPI armor, but i got his i guess, same one whom doan got it from, heck i dunno, i'll look later


anyways, i can help a great deal at visual aspects, making huds, models, texturing and stuff,

but i'm not gonna write a single line of script, too much time goes into that, imo =P


and yes.... dont use the V1 brutes... the anims were horrible. same for the SPv2 animations imo, i have them, so i can tell. models look better though, but i don't think i'd get permission to use it for this campaign, not that i want to bother asking anyways

Who supplied rangers? i never saw one, except in SPv2, and the ones i rigged myself from halo 2
and uhm, how about my h2 elites? i just redid the textures

Also, if someone could do voice acting, I'd like someone to replace "Hey, a Mark V!" with something else. Albeit a minor role, it would still be good.

I don't exactly aim at where CMT is at, I'd just like to facilitate gameplay in a different aspect - stealth instead of power - it's like favoring a sword over a rocket launcher.

I'll edit this post as I see something else to add/explain.

Edits:
CMT's MA5K will work nicely.

I guess I'll raise the gamma in some parts, mostly a10 service corridors to compensate for the loss of flashlight. I guess the flashlight will be a one-way switch, but the active camo need to recharge. I'll tweak it to 30 seconds to compensate, and with 1 minute to regenerate - it's worth it.

I'm a bit confused here. When you say you will be increasing the health because of the advanced augmentations, do you mean the illegal brain modifications which Kurt had them injected with, so they would keep functioning no matter what their vitals were? Cause I think that is a little bit to much. Although it would give for a better reason not to have medikits.

The illegal new augmentation only enabled the primitiv animal part to survive, it's highly unstable and wouldn't prove that much of a use anyways, as what my intepretation was of it, they can't think straight when they're in such a state

remember the part where one of the guys got "nicked" with needles? nice thing he got there, but when his adrenaline was gone, he collapsed.

nah, shield is gone, but that was for the camo, same for elites, there is no health increase whatsoever, the tradeoff here was because of the power supply, the armor was just cheap to produce, thats why they massivly used it

anyways, i think you shouldnt modifie the health, the camo will also help in your stealthy approach

2.5 times is way too much. Also, they were designed to be inexpensive, and disposable, so their health should be much less. They concentrate on squad warfare, instead of the one-man combat that the Halo campaign was designed for.

For gameplay reasons. And I think most of you have EVA, not SPI. And yes, I will be replacing some marines with cloaked S-IIIs, although they still die easily. Nobody else volunteering? Anyone ellse willing to show me some bipeds? No comment regarding the MA5K?

What can we say about the MA5K? And we haven't seen any of your work, convincing us that this project won't die out. It's not worth it to put all our efforts into something that's just going to fail. Case in point: Videoman's campaign mod.

i think its a cool idea and you should stick with it right now im on another project.
and the SPI ( S-111) spartans dont die quick its just that in the book ( i assume this is the Ghost of oynx book) they are used as dissposable weapons reather then the S-11 that stay alive more. also maybe you shoulld do it from a defferent spartans view or even from a marine in spi and have it more about what happens on the side in the "the flood" book rather than it being about john.

first of all, i thought you were making a Campaign, gametype doesn't matter then.

second, i can't open SP maps either, it's a problem you solve when you have a fresh install of your tag folder, if you customise it too much, you're out of luck pal, just like me

Tagspace is hardly a concern, i compile maps about 400 MB Average because all my bitmaps are HD, however bitmaps arn't taken into the tagspace count, nor are models, it's tags.

so i doubt you'll run out of tagspace soon unless you intend on only cramming it full, wich i tried, but it's only gonna happen when you try cramming stuff in for teh lulz.
