Um, farvel you know that you can ban them by sv_players, than sv_ban "player_number" right.

Also, strafe+jump is the best!

This is common sense.
If you see someone pointing a gun at you , you obviously dont stop to Teabag the ground.
When a grenade is thrown at you , you try to avoid it.
If you cant avoid the grenade , keep strafing and rapid crouching.
Learn to lead.
Good snipers can pick off people just moving in 1 direction.
Your best bet is to move left and right , that throws off any leading they have.
Unless you're fighting the host , in which case , you pray for a noob.
All weapons except the Sniper and Pistol dont work at long range.

best tactics = act according to the situation

There is not a set rule or group of rules that if you follow them you are bound to win. You need certain pre-requisites, like fast reflexes, an ability to think spatially, predict he enemy movements, and do things like lead, crouch, jump, strafe while firing, snipe on the move, trace sniper contrails, etc.

But you also need to be able to act according the th situation. If you pick up a sniper rifle every time, you won't get very far. Choose your weapons and route according to the enemies tactics and what the rest of your team is doing. Although it seems obvious, this is the biggest problem. Everyone just keeps going the same way, and getting slaughtered.

It took a couple months of playing Soldat (one of the best games ever, and free) to realize that every route, tactic, and weapon has a role.

Headhunter , i pick up a sniper rifle every chance i get and i have a record of 45 to 1 ratio.

Of course , when the situation demands it , ill pick something else up.

To emphasize on this, I played a 1 v 1 with someone named MLG PR0SH0Tz who thought he was the best. We played on Z Sanctuary PB2 (a map my PC isn't really built for), and he started to go all 'MLG' like on me.

But, since I've played MLG people in Halo 3, I know what they do. I'm semi MLG myself.... The kid rushes for the sniper, and when he does get it I 4 shot him before one of his shots hit me.

He runs around with his BR, I have the sniper, I snipe him 3 times in the head.

Eventually, I got 15-0 off of him he left by trying to crash my PC and server. Didn't work.

MLG = Ego-whoring people. But they aren't always the best. Actually, maybe 5% of them are really "Pro".

Seriously, Pistol + Ar (when you don't have a sniper) is the best combo.
What you do is when your in close range, you use the pistol, and try to get his health down. If you can't kill him by the team you have to reload, take out your AR and spray him with bullets, he's bound to die if your up close.

The AR sucks, don't use it. Pistol/plasma rifle is the best combo, plasma rifle for shields, then headshot with pistol.

I go pistol + shotgun. The assault rifle is horrible further than 2 meters away.

Not if you know how to use it right.

Pistol+AR-epic win for me,i shoot the guy till he has no shields,then i spray bullets at him,then he perishes,best combo for Short range fighting,its only too bad Halo 1 didnt had The MA5C AR,then it would be easier :o

Also, the assault rifle is sheer ownage, if you couple it with a plasma pistol.

Nonsense , the best combo is auctually the plasma pistol and the standard pistol.
Unfortunatly , few people know how to lead the plasma , and when they do get it right , the homing throws it off.

qring the sniper rifle PWNS long range and OWNS close range. IT sucks mid range though

the short range thing only applies if you are uaing a mouse, which is obviously more accurate then a console

It works at all ranges , i prefer using it at medium range instead of the others , though.
My reasons for doing so is because , at long range , i cant see my enemy that well , so i have to use the 8x scope , which reduces my FOV and makes the target harder to hit if he moves.
At lose range , it's impossible to use the scope or lead at all.
But at all ranges , the damage is the same.

Then don't lead using it, or use very little leading.

Best way to break up campers is to use Hogs and charge their position. Works every time :)

Play on a server with 300 ping , which i often get and then come back and tell me if i have to lead or not.

I'm back. Don't lead much, unless you want the homing to throw it off. And get a better internet connection.

It hurts so deep when people tell me to get a better internet connection , because the real solution is to move to the United States.
