What's wrong with it? I tend to keep mine a bit more visible like that one, because I use mine as a health meter; it'll tint the color of your health. In the most recent sandtrap beta, I believe Jesse did the same.

Anyway , the gametype icon up there , why hasn't anyone ever bothered to move or delete it?

I have, but me and jesse keep different tagsets. Though we're both provided the same tags, through multiple tweaks, our tags grow increasingly different. Since I test my weapons on debugging AI, and he tests his against actual players, our weapons are also balanced differently.

I just really like the concept of being able to see the inside of your helmet, having it bob around a bit as you move.

if someone may post that as an image because im new
so through out the halo games pieces of the hud are usually put in different places so heres a layout i made up just now on ms paint

credit(sphinxbio?)
i have no association with him as i just got the image on the same page for reference

i think it would be nice to have a percentage meter therefore you would get use to the damage you take with different weapons used against you

the weapons grenades is the bottom is like odst you can easiley keep an eye on your ammo meter

im also wondering if its possible to put an icon of your secondary weapon

i know that the hud isnt symmetrical cuz uts just an idea any who likes the idea can work with it

its bassically theres black around the bitmap and i think it could be from having no alpha? idk about huds but thats how transparent bitmaps work ussually.

I noticed that the black only appears around the default colored reticle but not the red. This means you have no alpha channel (in which case tool adds a white blank) or you added a white alpha channel. To fix this, you have two options. You can copy the blue channel (or any channel) and re-name it "alpha" and compile the bitmap with compressed with explicit alpha or 16 - 32 bit color. Or, you can go into guerilla and open the hud tag, go to the crosshairs section and set the Alpha channel values from 255 to 0. This will make the alpha (black) disappear, but the reticle will be really transparent when against bright surfaces. Personally I'd go with the first method.

I duplicated the blue channel, named it alpha, but does that mean I delete my previous alpha?
Because the first method didn't work. I compiled as 32 bit color and... yeah. Didn't work.

The alpha channel needs to be named "Alpha 1" not alpha

What i do for making a crosshair is make sure i have a completely black canvas using power of two dimensions, i draw out the reticle (if it's a simple shotgun reticle a circle will do) and then i duplicate the blue channel and name it "alpha" and then compile the bitmap at either 16 or 32 bit color.

I'd help you out by doing it for you but my PC is broken and i can't exactly use Photoshop on my iPod now can I?

I like the detail on the sniper scope mask, but doesn't it seem to dominate the screen? And are you going to make a H4 hud? These look fantastic.

Xfire FPS counter gives away the elite screenshot, besides, it's still obvious.

Why are the PS elements good, but not the ingamed ones?

I personally use bitmaps at the scale of 1:1 for ingame use. Many of my bitmaps are drawn out about 4x larger than they will eventually be.

The elite hud was one of the early ones I think, so I probably made them low res when they were compiled. It was a while ago, but I backed up my old hud folder so maybe I can try to put it back and see.
