What did Bungie use to POPULATE and, CREATE there maps? I've always wanted to know this. Like Bloodgulch, Beavercreek, Sidewinder ETC.

I think they modeled it on 3ds Max 6, because that is what the HEK tutorial tells you to use.

How did they get Sapien ETC. If those were created when Gearbox created Halo Custom Edition. Bungie had made Halo in 2001 I think. The tools were released when Halo Custom Edition was released right?

I don't think a studio would go and say, "Yeah, these are the exact tools we used to make this game. Just for you curious people out there." It was probably a much more powerful version of the HEK that they used, and probably not the same programs that we're familiar with. Edited by electricSquid on Jun 8, 2009 at 11:58 AM

Bungie used the same tools we use but without the restrictions. They use: -3Ds Max -Photoshop (whatever version was current for that date) -Guerilla (did I spell that right? -Sapien
Edited by Recycle Bin on Jun 8, 2009 at 10:11 AM -3ds max -zbrush -maya -sapien -Guerilla -Photoshop -mudbox -some custom plugins for 3ds max -face poser -match moving tools the list goes on.

Its not encrypted, its just not in there at all, or blocked out.
Thats why we have hacked HEK programs like Kornman00 or Ahobo.
Both programs have more unlocked features. But some things we still wont ever get. Edited by Advancebo on Jun 8, 2009 at 04:24 PM
