The map, Chronopolis, is great IMO. However, it seems that it is stuck in the "Public Beta" stage, and not a lot of people want to make mods out of it, nor make it into a "final release" map (although there are...). I feel that this great map shouldn't be left in its present stage. Ironing out all the problems with it (which i found only a few so far...)and adding new vehicles will make it even better.

your views please......i dont mean to be rude, actually, but this is seriously what i feel.

How many years has it been since that map was first released?

Also, the original creator no longer makes stuff for Halo, so no real point. I suggest making an entirely new map.

I only used Chronopolis for Weapons/AI tests.
However I do like the map in general, I like all those vehicles :P

The map would go great with a single player level. If I were to make a single player level out of that map. I would make it an assassination type of single player, where you play as a spec ops elite. Then you have to kill someone important. Like a president or a leader of another country.

Note: It would obviously be a fictional leader, I would never put a real leader of a country in that level. I would obviously get hunted down. lol

I thought a while ago of making a single player map with it. Unfortunately I didn't have the skills then, and it failed miserably.

It is a classic map. But you know whats even more classic? Anything made by mother goat. Someone should bump the thread about the "greats."

i always loved chornopolis. it was one of those kind of maps where you could do w/e you wanted. if you ask me this beta is realy good so i don't see a point in a final.

Final release should include:

removal of scarab gun and magnum

removal bouncing rocket thingys

removal of koto

custom biped, maybe a riot squad themed spartan to go with the city feel?



Pretty much everything else is fine the way it is, maybe making pistol four shot kill but other than that it's fine.

Hi again.

Basically, i feel that the so-called "superweapons" (like the magnum or koto) should not b removed. Here's why i think so....

1. The scarab gun and koto is only for n00bs who love to use devmode to get to these superweapons AND THEN trying to own everyone with the "illegally acquired" weapons. However, these guns should be kept for testing and modification purposes, and ONLY those purposes.

2. The magnum may be an ownage weapon, with High DPR, but its ROF is friggin slow. that means that with the right weapons and good skill, a person can easily own a guy using the magnum.

No doubt this map is like, 3+ years old. However, i feel that this map is great, and even if the original creator no longer makes stuff for Halo, we can still build up on the map. Also, i revised my topic starter: i no longer mean a "final" chronopolis. I mean a better, hell-lot-of-improvements and hell-lot-of-new-weapons-and-vehicles chronopolis, without the Beta title.

I also feel that a single player map based on this map can be great. I like pwner5889's idea of an assasination attempt. You can play as a marine or other biped for that type of mission.

I love that magnum.

Either get rid of it or fix those damn animations because they want to make me cry every time I see them, the koto is the bouncy sword thingy, the rockets have an alternate fire that shoots bouncy rocket thingies.

Remove the Koto, it exceptions like crap. If its kept in, make new animations, and dont make the projectiles bounce around.

yeah, I think the scarab gun should be removed along with the koto. and I also think the magnum should be treated as a heavy weapon (e.g. rocket or plasma cannon), since it can flip hogs.. and if the scarab gun and koto are kept in, they should only have 1 koto (instead of 2 or 3.. cant remember) and they should be on top of the tallest building so they are harder to get ;o.

they shouldn't remove the kotot or scarab (plasma nade launcher).

becaue you can't get the scarb unless you use dev. and the koto i dont get why people say that it gives them exceptions.. but it never gave me and my friends exception.

but if were talking bout .03 then they should remove the whining sound from the purple car. god that hurts the ears!

From what i know, there is only one koto, and you need either devmode or a banshee(which doesn't spawn by default) to get it.

Also, i am not very sure whether the magnum should b counted as a heavy weapon. Yes, it can flip stuff like hogs and it has high damage, but it is, after all, a pistol that fires darn slowly.

btw, who has strategies on beating a person with a koto or magnum (just 4 fun)?

Yeah, just like a rocket launcher. So its a heavy weapon.

If the scarab gun is available, people will use dev to get to it instead of actually playing the map. The Koto, when fired repetitively, causes lots of lag and eventually an exception and therefore should be removed.

If anyone is interested in making another chronopolis map, i would support it.

Any custom vehicles that anyone thinks should be added to the map (not banshees. they are already in there)?

halo ce is getting enough halo 3 remakes\versions, its starting to get rather dull, why dosen't anybody do custom stuff insteaad of ripping off stuff from another game

maybe u can try reskinning it into a forerunner city, or even a covenant city.

btw, even with an existing map, the possibilities are near-endless. think abt it : you can delete all the vehicles, and add yr own. you can import custom weapons and put them in (spartan laser?). and like i said in the previous version of this post, reskinning it is a good option too (but that has to come with the vehicles and weapons that fit the scheme. i mean, won't you feel odd seeing covenant vehicles in a human city?).

its just yr creativity that matters.
